This translation has very weird interpretations on the text, like rather than say "The Jade Emperor has practiced the Dao..." it says he practiced Religion.

Yeah, this version isn't better than the one I have, regardless.

I told you before, there isn't an objective version which is superior to all other versions, and framing it like that is wrong.

Ya that's a big issue, cause I'm pretty sure we can't miss-match translations. And I'm not going through everything and changing scans to an older translation.

You can just use both.

You can cross-reference translations, that's how I proved the Ganges was infinite, remember?

Because one of the books I had said the Dragons Realms were "as numerous as Sands in the Ganges" and the other one just said "Infinite".

In fact, cross referencing is how we'd get the most accurate version.

The issue is when the two translations don't support each other but rather contradict one another.

What translations contract each other?

And even then, in such a case, we'd take measure of all the translations we'd have to offer and see what it is translated as most.

Do you mind fixing the stats on Sun Wukong's page, or giving me permission so I can fix it? Stuff like Speed and Lifting Strength are backwards.
 
I have yet to see anyone posit any argument for Wukong actually being weaker, shall I just remove it?

There's no evidence for it on the profile and no one is arguing for it here.

Jasonsith was the one who proposed it and it just kind of stuck. If he has no arguments against removing it be my guest.

His logic btw was that Wukong realistically should stomp 99% of the enemies he has to fight 1v1 but he still gets matched all the time, so a possible explanation is that the 500 years of being sealed weakened him and it was the Buddha's intention to give him more of a struggle so that he can achieve enlightenment or smth

Why would he stomp them out if he didn't?

In the story, most of his enemies either:
  • Have Sacred and or Magical Weapons which nerf Wukong's ability to fight them (Diamond Ring, etc)
  • Magical abilities which bypass Wukong's resistances and harm him (Fires of Samadi)
  • Fight underwater (Wukong doesn't swim for some reason)
  • They transform into a person and Wukong can’t kill them immediately without being punished.

Every other time, Wukong does stomp people.

Until Jasonsith gives his piece since he was the one who suggested the split keys no changes other than fixing statistics will be made.
