This is Canon Composite Jason, right?

He has both movie and (canon) comic book showings where he survived worse things than mere machete swipes to the head. He's walked through bullets, tanked point-blank shotgun blasts, survived being frozen, survived electrocution, no-sold being set on fire, regenerated from a grenade explosion in mere moments, and walked off falling from a helicopter and tanking the explosion that came afterwards. Those feats override any instance where he died from lesser causes.
