Jack is back: Samurai Jack discussion thread

Really loved new episode. Loved the humour. How all assassins were worshipping Aku's statue and shit while Robot guy was casually callling him on phone. Good thijg humour wasn't lost there.

Been waiting years for this.

Completely worth it. The art and style is better than ever.

Sad that Mako passed away and can't reprise his role as Aku, though. He was excellent.

@Hit: Indeed.

@Azathoth: Yeah. Sad but Mako would have been so good with taking up the role of AKU again. Let's see how this one goes.

Also, weren't we supposed to do something about Jack's tier against beings like Aku? I remember that's a thing that seems rather.....questionable for some others here.

Currently Jack has two new weapons, since he lost his sword. Also he seems to have a weakness that gives him problems in battle and said that he cannot age, but there are for now little details about these, i will add them later.
I see you added the trauma induced hallucinations as well. Good job.

Mako's replacement did a decent job with Iroh so I'm confident he won't let us down (yeah he's voicing Aku as well).

I just saw the episode and it was great. I wonder if they will have Jack fight Sky without his sword.

Really Great 1st episode I like the Foreshadowing of Ashi's betrayal against the Seven Sisters and The Robot just called Aku on the phone when this Cult needs a satanic ritual to contact him lol. Also the psychological trauma of living all of this time is very interesting to see.

@Ultima

I was going to make a page for him, actually. I would add "Possibly higher" to his AP/Durability since he consistently got stronger and stronger after he performed the Low 2-C feat.

I was thinking something like "After he performed such a feat, he has only gotten stronger, but by an unknown degree".

Okay, also, should i count the scene where he was devouring the universe as a feat? Or do you think it is too vague?

@Ultima Reality @Darkanine

Would the other deities (Odin, Ra, Vishnu) scale to him?

Are we sure Cronus is Universal? He seems incredibly vague, I watched the episode myself and while he does control Space and Time, he doesn't seem to be Low 2-C.

Also, the fact that he was defeated by Zeus who should logically be comparable to Odin, Ra and Vishnu makes it questionable.

I agree with Matt that if Cronus only showed spacial/time manipulation, yet has no feats or statements of destroying an entire universe, we shouldn't rate all his stats as Low 2-C. Rather just rate him as someone with decent hax.

Didn't Cronus actually destroy a timeline? My memory is hazey but I seem to remember that. If not. At least 4-C, likely higher seems okay.

Assuming it doesn't reach FTL, the kinetic Energy of the Evil or even Ra, Odin and Vishnu just flying would reach pretty insane levels.

Isn't it called "The Ultimate Evil"?

Also, wasn't it distant from the star? In other scene, it fights with Odin, Vishu and Ra, who are smaller than a star... And it doesn't seem to be THAT big when compared to them

Anyway, if everyone agree with Cronus downgrade... I agree too

If Low 2-C doesn't work for him, shouldn't we scale his AP based on his sheer size?

It was distant from that star if I recall, but it was still larger than another star. Odin, Ra and Vishnu respectively are also roughly the size of stars.

I think the Entity should be 4-B through it's sheer size.

I think 4-C to High 4-C would be the safest bet for now since we do not know how far behind that star the entity is. And assuming that star is the size of ours, the entity's size still does not warrant a 4-B rating. The size jump from star to solar system is bloody massive.

So........are we just gonna keep putting in the whole "Jack's High 6-B for fighting Evil Beings like Aku" thing? Wasn't that agreed on not using it at all and deem it to be due to his sword's ability to harm and kill Aku because of it's holy properties or whatever or what?

Yes, we should downgrade him because his sword ignores durability against beings like Aku.

I've been watching more and more of Samurai Jack and I agree with the downgrade as well.

Another thing I think we need to do if decide a good rating for him. In my opinion it's kinda odd at the moment.

Xcano thinks Jack has an 8-B feat, and Dark calced a Large Island level feat (though Xcano thinks it's an outlier), and Jack's durability is rated as 7-A but not his AP despite him constantly fighting people who can harm him.

So I think we should decide what is it. Rate Jack 8-B for the forrest feat, High 6-C for the sunlight dodge, 7-A for the dura stuff or just plain High 8-C?

The 7-A part has to do with Aku being able to grow such a height of one and i think the mindset was assuming he was hitting Jack with the force to busting down an entire mountain.....i think.

IDK how that idea even works nor can i explain. Also, i beleive Soldier Blue also made a thread about it regarding on what kinds of actual feats Jack has done that we should actually go by for him. High 8-C was something i left as i think this was of him fighting those of the size of them but idk if that really even counts as having High 8-C potency.

In any case, and thankfully Samurai Jack being back is having some more looking into, we should really try to work that up on him and others scaled to/from him.

Unless Aku has hit Jack when he was mountain sized, I don't think he should be rated as having Mountain level durability.

I'll try to look for Soldier Blue's thread. But personally I think Xcano's forrest feat seems to be the best feat to rate him by.

But yeah it is good that there's opportunity to look into Jack more.

I think Crop brought up in a previous thread a time when Jack and the Scotsman destroyed a town in their fight.

There's also Aku destroying a village (And Jack has tanked his attacks before), so Tier 7 Jack is pretty consistent.
