What's the proof that the game becoming night when you near the Forsaken Fortress isn't a game mechanic?
Isn't that the least presumptuous assumption. A similar thing happened in Ocarina of Time when you neared Castle Town after accruing all three Spiritual Stones, a rainstorm would suddenly pop up to set the mood. Another similar thing happened in Twilight Princess when you enter Hyrule Castle. No matter what the weather is or what time of day it is, it always becomes a rainy morning when you near the Castle.

Why do we assume it is a spell and not just Nintendo setting up an atmosphere?
Thats what I always assumed

What about Forsaken Fortress? Also, the OoT and TP things are a result Ganon's weather manipulation. It's not simply atmosphere, albeit has no practical use.

How do you know? Why do you assume he does this?

You mean to tell me when he's chasing after Impa and Zelda in OoT, he makes sure to create a rainstorm while doing it? Why would he do this?

Isn't it more logical and the least speculative assumption to assume that the change in weather and time is to fit the atmosphere that Nintendo wants to create for such a scene and not an ability that Ganon uses off-screen that aids him in no determinable fashion what so ever?

The endless night which definitely happened in canon(because of cutscenes and dialouge) is connected with the Forsaken Fortress thing. Both are similar in nature and both are Ganon's doing.

Also the OoT cutscene arguement is a real stretch and not compareable to the Forsaken Fortress. One happened in a cutscene to introduce the villain and the turning point of the story "to set the mood", the other happnens when Link travels to an island where the villain resides. Apples and oranges.

Edit: Btw if your main arguement is "the game setting the atmosphere", I could use the same arguement for "Do you have proof that the sun that was created by Majora wasn't just there to create the atmosphere of a sunny green field which might possibly be an illusion?" to downgrade Majora. Those two arguements are pretty similar.

What dialogue? And what specifically in cutscenes? Explain.

And it is not a stretch. You go to a specific point on the map at a specific time, and the game changes the time of day and the weather to establish an ominous mood. The same thing happened when you approach Hyrule Castle in Twilight Princess. So no, not apples and oranges.

Now, this is a stretch. This is apples to oranges. How is a dimension created inside the moon by Majora's Mask comparable to an area within the game that changes the time of day and the current weather when you near its location? The world inside the moon, and possibly even the moon itself was created by Majora. Unlike a change in time or weather, it is something we see happen on-screen and has a reason for its existence. So no, these arguments are not similar in the slightest.

How is a storm that only appears when Ganon's doing his business, only comes in when someone approaches Castle Town, and appears out of literally nowhere more logical than a known powerful wizard to "A wizard did it" on the storm? Natural weather phenomenons don't appear out of nowhere.

Also since someone brought up that whenever Ganon appears there is always rain and thunderstorm to set the atmosphere: Here is a quote by the King of Red Lion:

"So...that foul rai and endless night were
indeed elements of a curse brought on us
by Ganon! "

The rain is accompanied with the endless night.and caused by Ganon. It happened in canon. Ganon seems to be fond of rain. What use could he gain from letting it rain in Wind Waker? Dont know why, but it still happened. So Ganon is very likely causing the rain in OoT and TP even if it seems unnecessary. I mean, hey, he played the organ for no other reason but to set the mood. Dude probably is one of the overdramatic type.

What advantage would Ganondorf gain from making it night in the Foresaken Fortress? wouldn't that end up making it easier for Link to sneak around?

Since when has anything in Zelda worked like real life? Day becomes to night in like an hour

You know video games have "game mechanics", right? Things that happen in the game that only happens in the game state, and not in the story or lore.

If this wasn't a game where stuff like this can indeed happen, then I would agree with you.

Have you actually played the game? Here is one dialouge by the king of red lion:

"So...that foul rai and endless night were
indeed elements of a curse brought on us
by Ganon! "

And this happens in a cutscene. Great fish isle curse is also caused by a cutscene(the postman points out that the island is cursed). Everything that happens in a cutscene is canon. Also if you haven't played wind waker, watch a playthrough of it starting with "great fish isle".

Also about Majora, your arguement about Ganon was the game setting the mood, I argued the "sunny green field" is also just the sun setting the mood/atmosphere and that you have no proof that the sun is a real sun, just like how you are arguing that it isn't Ganon's power that causes the night but the game setting the mood. Both arguements are ridiculous btw.

Don't quote such long pieces of text, it clogs up the thread.

And yeah I did, but that was like half a decade ago and I don't remember all the cutscenes and dialogue.

Sue me.

The Slayers profiles were deleted since they had a terrible structure, i'm currently studying the verse.

The difference is that Ganon has a power source the Triforce of Power, which gave him enough magical power to canonically cast powerful curses in Oot, Ww and Tp like the endless night as confirmed by the King, Oot shows that it can also empower his strikes and harm Link, and can also take his own magical spheres with ease in Tp, Lina just learned spells that are much stronger than herself, so i'm closing this since was dragged for too long.
