Infinite Speed: Voids and Consistency

^^

How about:

"Originating from the void can be used to support the rating. However, this does not automatically makes the character infinite in speed. In addition, lacking such an origin is not a justification to disqualify a character from the rating. Official statements can also be applied as long the description is clear or clarified."

I suppose that is better, but I would prefer to see what the other staff members think.

Okay. I will add it then.

Sorry about reopening this thread, but we continued to talk about this subject in another thread, and Assaltwaffle gave the following suggestion for rewording the explanation text:

https://vsbattles.com/vsbattles/1534813

"Characters who showcase the ability to move freely and naturally in a timeless void may qualify for an infinite speed rating so long as it is not an Outlier, case of Plot-Induced Stupidity, or Inconsistency. Furthermore, the void should be clarified as timeless by statements or showings, and should consistently operate, or be described to operate, in such a fashion. Such feats will have to be very carefully evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Originating from a void can be used to support the rating. However, this does not automatically make a character infinite in speed. In addition, lacking such an origin is not a justification to disqualify a character from the rating. Official statements can also be applied as long as the description is clear or clarified."

Input would be very appreciated.

This seems fine. However, I think we are getting needlessly overspecific. The current writing already conveys it much more briefly.

Okay. Thank you for the reply.

One very tiny error. Someone should put "as" in there to make it sound better.

I believed so too, but after the Mario discussion this is clearly not the case.

Well, I personally think that Assaltwaffle's new version is better, due to avoiding misunderstandings.

Would it be acceptable to add it?

@Kukui

I have adjusted the wording.

Yes, of course.

Maybe similar to how we treat Powers and Abilities pages, should perhaps list examples of verses or characters who were accepted as Infinite Speed under these guidelines? That way people would have a guide?

^ I second this

This is a very good idea

it should obviously put a digimon but for the rest I do not know

Well, they would have to be good examples, as currently I think quite a lot of profiles have incorrect immeasurable or infinite speed ratings, left over from our old standards.

Anyway, one thing at a time. Would it be acceptable if I update note 4 with Assaltwaffle's better clarified version?

Responses would be appreciated.

So can I update the speed page?

Okay. Thank you.
