Introduction

No, I am not purposing to change anything, rather I want to add/discuss a note. The purpose of this note is to establish guidelines for the inclusion of H-Games or NSFW content, primarily categorized as level 4, on the wiki platform. It recognizes the importance of providing users with the option to choose whether they want such explicit scenes displayed, while ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to maintain a professional environment.

Definition of H-Games or NSFW Content

H-Games refer to adult-oriented video games that contain explicit sexual content or themes. NSFW content encompasses any material that is not suitable for viewing in a professional or public setting due to its sexually explicit nature.

Guidelines

H-Games or NSFW content, primarily categorized as level 4, may be added to the wiki platform, subject to the following provisions:
  • Users must be provided with an optional choice to display or hide explicit scenes within the H-Games or NSFW content.
  • The default display setting for H-Games or NSFW content must be “off” or “hidden,” ensuring that explicit scenes are not shown by default.
  • The display choice must be easily accessible and prominently indicated in the user interface, allowing users to conveniently select their preferred display option.

Counter (alternative)-perspective

While acknowledging the concerns raised regarding the optional display choice for explicit scenes in H-Games or NSFW content, it is important to consider the following counter-guidelines:
  • Relevance for Indexing Purposes:
    • Explicit scenes within H-Games or NSFW content may be relevant for indexing purposes, as they contribute to the overall context and understanding of the series or content being discussed.
    • Excluding or hiding the explicit scenes could result in an incomplete or altered representation of the content, which may compromise the accuracy and integrity of the index.
  • Preserving the Authenticity of the Series:
    • Indexing a gutted alt-version of the series, devoid of the explicit scenes, may deviate from the standard practice of accurately representing the content as it was intended.
    • Maintaining the integrity of the series includes acknowledging and indexing all relevant aspects, including explicit scenes, to provide a comprehensive and accurate representation.
  • Balancing User Choice and Indexing Requirements:
    • While providing users with the choice to display or hide explicit scenes is essential, it is equally important to consider the indexing requirements and the need to preserve the authenticity of the content.
    • Finding a balance between user choice and indexing needs ensures that users have control over their viewing experience while still maintaining a comprehensive and accurate index.
  • Ensuring Transparency and Warnings:
    • To address concerns related to explicit content, clear warnings should be provided to users regarding the nature of the scenes within the content.
    • Transparent labeling and categorization of explicit scenes will help users make informed decisions and navigate the content according to their preferences.
Note: These counter-guidelines propose an alternative perspective, considering the importance of indexing the complete and authentic version of the series or content, while still maintaining user choice and transparency through clear warnings and labeling.

A draft for disallowing those verses (will be replaced under level 4)

Verses falling into the category of level 4 NSFW content, with the option of being displayed, do not deviate from the norm.

Occurrences of verses

  • Rance (series)
  • MGK (monster-girl-quest)

I think it best if I remained neutral for this as threads like these have often not gone well and/or has often put some folks in uncomfortable situations. But will follow for management purposes.

But I recall Fandom staff not being okay with ones that are clearly advertised as Level 4 by our standards even if it's just an optional thing.

I'm full against hentai shit. We defined level 4 as the extreme higher end for a reason.
Assuming there is no confusion, I am specifically referring to level 4 verses that provide the option of choosing the display.

You are suggesting a change: you would like us to alter our guidelines to allow hentai stuff on the basis that the hentai is turned off by default and there's a big button that says "please allow me to play this hentai game for the plot".

Me, Bambu, I am saying I do not want hentai content on this wiki. Coupled with the fact that Fandom may or may not have problems with it, I am simply fully against having to discuss such degen shit with a straight face. Level 4 is there for a reason, we have no need to change it.

I am not proposing a direct alteration; instead, I am initiating a discussion and offering two viewpoints. Several members (including staff members) believed that permitting level 4 verses was acceptable based on this straightforward attribute.

However, since you have not encountered any confusion on your part, I will refrain from further debate, as you agree with the second viewpoint (counter-perspective) and the associated draft.

Any discussion made to propose rules counter to what we currently have is a change- the point is semantics but I'm not sure why you're arguing otherwise. This is not putting to paper something already accepted- our current standards are very much specifically against this sort of thing. I'd like that bit clear.

Once the discussion concludes, a note will be appended. You have expressed your viewpoint, asserting that regardless of the presence of the optional display choice feature, it should not be permitted in any form. I have comprehended your perspective and will refrain from further argumentation.

Yes, and it is officially forbidden by the Fandom staff, who helped us to write these guidelines, not just us locally.
So I take that you perceive my viewpoint to align with the counter-perspective. Noted.

I mean, I could sort of see a reason if the Pornographic/NSFW content was simply just an optional add on, but the biggest issue is that simply being advertised as a ****/Hentai verse and having it as it's main genre are still things that have the affiliation of being stuff "Fandom doesn't want seeing here at all"

We will not change our standards. Sorry.
I made a concerted effort to be exceptionally precise with my premise. However, my intention is not to instigate any changes unless the majority favors making an exception. Nonetheless, if the thread ultimately concludes with opposition, this note will be appended:
  • Verses falling into the category of level 4 NSFW content, with the option of being displayed, do not deviate from the norm.

Seeing as I was back there in the day to kill MGQ, you can guess what my stance on this is. The NSFW content being "optional" doesn't prevent little Timmy from seeing our pages and looking up the thing, potentially with explicit filters turned off. And while I don't care so much about that, FANDOM sure as shit does.

Yeah no, this really shouldn't happen, considering that doing this could be against the FANDOM's standards. Hard disagree

Verses falling into the category of level 4 NSFW content, with the option of being displayed, do not deviate from the norm.
Everyone agreed to add this note, I don't see any reason for you to comment in this thread and suggest lock if the OP itself presented one alternative solution.

I wonder how this would affect animanga series like Redo of Healer? Those series are meant to be erotic and you can't turn off the explicit sex scenes like how would you do with a game.

I kindly request moderation assistance for this thread to remove any messages that violate the guidelines or rules. (or did not receive any permission from staff)

Regarding the "Redo of Healer" series, it is essential to clarify that it is categorized as level 3 content, not level 4. Throughout the entirety of the series, the plot does not primarily revolve around explicit sexual themes or level 4 content.

So what are the conclusions here? Should we close this thread?

Nonetheless, if the thread ultimately concludes with opposition, this note will be appended:
  • Verses falling into the category of level 4 NSFW content, with an optional choice to display SFW, do not deviate from the norm.
