Thanks an enormous lot for helping out so much. Would it be a good idea to give @IdiosyncraticLawyer temporary wiki admin rights to be able to help you edit the remaining blog posts?

I have been given instructions about how to properly update our abuse filter for disallowed external links, so I have done so. I hope that it will work properly. 🙏

I tested this in my sandbox, and all of them are blocked. There are still a lot of user pages with discord links, though.

Nice.

There should be nothing to worry about, we can clear them out in our spare time. At least there won't be any more new pages or blogs popping up with discord links.

Uhh, adding that to the disallowed links too early will prevent us from editing pages that already have Discord links, unless they're fixed. That sounds bad.

Well, as you can see in the link below, the only somewhat relevant Discord links left seem to be located in blog post comments, personal user pages, and wiki sandbox pages.

I don't see any changes on the page or in your edits.

For backward compatability, the script would also display a greeting stored in Message Wall Greeting:USERNAME (in case a newer one does not exist), as it was used on the legacy platform. However, editing that page is blocked by Fandom. When the owner of such a message wall opens their wall, they will see a warning and a button to move the code to the new appropriate location.

No. It doesn't allow me to edit it.
I can't edit either.
Okay, we have a serious problem on our hands.
@Antvasima @AKM sama @DontTalkDT @ImmortalDread The page https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Message_Wall_Greeting:Apex_PredatorX has links to both discordapp and discord, but due to the way Fandom is fundamentally coded, nobody can edit the page.

@Dereck03 For now, I made a DPL showing the relevant links we still need to correct.

And here is a page that lists 30 other members besides myself capable of helping with this project as well.
:HoloThonk:

Is this really a “serious problem.” Those pages are relics of a bygone era that serve zero purpose to the wiki. There’s literally no point of organizing a project involving the busiest wiki staff + Fandom admin for something that doesn’t involve our operational pages; the effects of this won’t impact wiki quality at all me thinks.

Strongly agreed.

I'll do my best to blow through the rest of these pages in the coming days; if nothing goes wrong, we should be able to close this in a few days.

I don't think that there are any relevant remaining pages though.

Please explain further.

Okay. Thank you for helping out. 🙏
