How the f*ck Undertale/Deltarune soul manipulation, resistence negation, resistence to soul manipulation works? works?!

Monsters in both verses take damage from their souls as physical damage, ok

Now the final question, if a monster directly attacks your soul, you simply run out of physical damage but can it "kill your soul" or do you take physical damage as your soul takes damage? this is a problem that always comes up during Undertale Battles (except sans ones) and I just wanted a clear answer to facilitate the analysis

Basically, if a Monster attacks your SOUL enough, it shatters. Sorta like taking Glass to a Hammer. This usually means it pseudo-bypasses durability, with it not always caring for your physical stats, but it still needs to hit a bit to actually kill.

Least, far as I’m aware.

i mean in the games you die after you take damage which hits you soul. It seems that the latter option is more viable as when your soul gets hit in deltarune Kris ends up taking damage and later knocked down so...make of that what you will i guess.

Deltarune and Undertale aren’t part of the same verse, according to the creator. Although it uses the same characters, it doesn’t use the same in-verse mechanics, and therefore we can’t use it for Undertale questions iirc

Whem papyrus hit your soul enough he is able to knock out Frisk to put him in that cell

Attacking the soul weakens the body, yes. We this this in Mettaton's fight.

  • Despite being hurt, you posed dramatically. The audience applauds. [Pose at less than half HP]
  • Despite being wounded, you posed dramatically. The audience gasps. [Pose at less than 1/4 HP]
  • With the last of your power, you posed dramatically. The audience screams. [Pose at extremely low HP]
As for physical damage, I can't think of a case where Frisk takes physical damage only for it to be directed towards their soul, same goes for other monsters.

Going back to Mettaton, for his fight, you attack his soul directly using your peashooter. I assume this is where the "monsters resist soul attacks" comes from.

The analogy of a hammer hitting glass is pretty spot-on. It would seem magic attacks hurt you physically and spiritualy (soul-ally?)

Kris is roughly the same as Frisk, being able to take magic attacks right to their soul and growing physically weaker as time goes on, but also takes King's spades as a physical, non-soul harming attack.

Ok, them but We should use The soul dura or body dura if we put them to fight with a character without any soul manipulation resistence?

Very few characters have a listed soul dura. I know Pennywise has a 1-A soul but besides that.

If they don't resist soul manip, it should be fair to say "they die in a matter of hits" but really it's impossible to tell, as not all souls follow the 20-HP basis that Undertale souls do.
