How should sneak attacks be treated?

Depend of the verse I think.

Example of yes and no:

Goku was almost killed by Sorbet because of this.

But Man's example show that this doesn"t apply to everything.

Can a tank be destroyed with a punch if the pilot doesn't see it coming?
Yes, actually. Depending on where said punch was located. Tanks, like all things, have weak spots.

Sneak attacks do have a chance of exploting weaknesses in opponenets, or chinks in their armour. It is why characters such as Michael Myers are so deadly. But, like most things in the wiki, this would have to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

^ Machines are different to people. Houdini was killed by a child's punch because he wasn't ready for it. Even some professional fighters go into shock and die from strikes they weren't prepared for

9-B weapons like the Barrett M82 can disable tanks by hitting very specific parts where the armor is weaker.

Also I'm pretty sure that with houdini, there were a few issues there.

A: It wasn't a child, it was a guy who would be considered strong anyways.

B: He had preexisting spleen issues or something, but he incorrectly assumed the pain was just from the punch and as such didn't get treatment. Died from that more than the pinch.

Remember that places like the neck are generally much less durable than the rest of the body. There's not like an official gap though.

Sneak attacks in general don't ignore durability, but they do allow you to hit weak spots more easily.

Basically the part that actually matters when you punch someone in the face with a sneak attack is the fact that you punched their face, not that they didn't see it coming.

I mean, tecnically speaking, a 9-A could hurt a baseline 8-C if they are high enough.

And hitting someone in, say, the eyes, can still be oretty damn effective regardless.

Yes but the latter falls under "doing more damage via attacking a weak spot".

Hitting the eye hurts like hell independently from the opponent seeing it coming or not
