How do you calculate KE of an object toppling over?

Say you have a large cylindrical object that falls on a character and you want to figure out how much they're tanking, how would you do it? The object has just been given a slight nudge and falls on its side under the effects of gravity and nothing else.

Find its center of mass and figure out how much said center changed in elevation.
Using that do a typical GPE calc (mass*9.81*change in elevation, if reasonably close to the ground)

In case of a cylindrical object the intitial height of the center of mass would be half its height and the final height of the center of mass would be half its radius.

Cause I clearly lack concentration lol
I mean the radius / half the diameter of course.
