Hazbin Hotel Discussion Thread

Okay this I’m happy with. It confirms him to be the strongest sinner, and his soul was already op, it seems like Rosie only owns his soul until he pays of his debt
Rosie owning Alastor makes no ******* sense. Disappointed asf. Even Niffty owning Al would be better — at least it would be funny.

He's overhyped ngl.
This yeah, the show relies on you liking Alastor for a lot of his scenes, so him flip flopping from for the hotel to against it about every other scene he's in just kind of kills him for me. Pilot Alastor was good because he DIDN'T have that kind of personality crisis

I kinda thought he just wasn't meant to be that relevant until the end.

TBF Alastor's character is iffy, like from Pilot to show he's probably the weakest character with actual plot relevance.
He has a huge role in getting the army and AWs against Exorcists, wdym. If he had been a little less cocky he could’ve beaten down Adam by himself.

When is he against the hotel though? He is in favor of it throughout the entirety of the show, I don’t what are you talking about. Although I admit that Pilot Alastor was kinda better ngl.

As in his character is worse.

He says as much, then goes back on it like two of his scenes later.

He's inconsistent, and probably even mid as far as S1 goes.

Could ya be more specific for once? If you are talking about not helping Vaggie, then yeah no shit he hates technology and he cares about the hotel as in "the thing that keeps him entertaining" and that kinda stuff.

It's more of a mystery behind him, not an inconsistency. And mid? Nah. He is a perfect displayal of a sociopath. His scenes have just the right amount of hints at “possible genuineness” and hints at a hidden motivation throughout the entire season.

But, hey, Season 2 is on its way to ruin him!

Tbf Rosie being a hellborn stronger than every sinner probably means that there’s more to her than meets the eye. Also she took his soul when he was human, and she herself also confirmed that

a. His soul is only hers until he pays her debt

b. His soul was special, even for sinner standards

So there is going to be more reveals for this

Wait where did you take that (I only saw “You are my pet” song, nothing else for now)? Also,
there are more to my reasons to why this makes no sense: when you remember that Husk was at inch of getting his soul wiped just because of mentioning Alastor being on a leash, you wouldn’t expect Al to be so friendly with his owner at all.
It was also literally hinted at to precisely 0 times in Season 1.
Also how tf Rosie is a hellborn AND an Overlord with an ability to make deals? I thought these were mutually exclusive.

Adam is confirmed to be an archangel

Should we add it or wait for s2? Btw the leaks also straight up confirm that Al had no chance against Adam

We haven’t fully explored Rosie’s character, also Geotia are hellborn, and we also have no clue why Rosie is so strong. So I’d say wait for the full season for our answers to be explained. Also alastor is evidently not happy but he’s not stupid, he knows Rosie could kill him while under contract

Yeah Alastor got stomped, but did do a wee bit of damage, hence an At Most rating for my ideal Alastor profile.

Making someone rub their chin would not scale Alastor to them, especially when the entire show keeps telling showing and telling that Al had no chance. He wasnt even against a serious Adam for crying out loud

I remember one OPM guy got an "At most" rating for breaking another character's toe, there's also Chainsaw Man characters getting an "At most" due to Denji surviving an attack that shattered most of his bones and drenched him in his own blood.
I don't think Alastor getting an "At most 7-A" here is all that outlandish.

TBF... CSM shouldn't get that, it's stupid.

As for Alastor, as I like to specify, it's only AP, not SS or Durability.

What exactly was the leak. Only one I could find was lucifer making fun of Al

He sorta got blitzed and one-shot. Causing minor damage to Adam doesn't really mean that he stands a chance at actually beating him.

Well, a toe's a whole-ass bone, even if it's giga-weak, that's a way better reason.

He was not blitzed. Try to look directly at the flashlight.
He kept up with him for the entirety of the fight and dodged every attack.
That’s cool, but if I have no chance against my dad it doesn’t mean I can at some point punch him in face and cause some damage. Also if Alastor was not cocky and took ******* Angelic Weapons he would have hell of a chance.

Goetias are a separate layer of hierarachy, Overlords are Sinners only. Alastor is very friendly towards Rosie in EP7, as well as in EP3, although once Husk mentions that he is "on a leash" he is about to tear his soul apart. You don't play "happy friends" with your owner if the very fact of being owned causes so much anger. Also how tf do you make a deal with a Sinner while you are alive? This makes Hell useless if Sinners' influence extends to living world lmfao. And this entire reveal just kills Alastor's power hype, which is a majority of his character, so yeah... this is just wrong on so many levels.

TBF, he did already get bodied lol

Yeah, by THE GENERAL OF EXORCISTS, and he gave him a decent fight which could potentially be far longer if he took AWs/ever saw Adam's AoE attacks... this, however, just kills off his power hype even among the Sinners since Rosie is above him, and it shifts "wow how is mf so powerful" from Alastor to Rosie, which is kinda good for her character ("kinda" because if they want to make her Alastor 2.0 then it's just bs writing), but very bad for Alastor's character because that's what most of his deal is.

Rossie made him the "most powerful sinner in hell" and her emphasizes that on two occasions, (Rossie is not included since she is not a sinner, viv once said she had never been alive, so she is a Hellborn). So we can assume with the information we have at this point Rossie>Alastor> The other Overlords.

regarding the fight with Vox, It is left very implicit that Alastor had never doubted his power or the deal he had with Rossie until his defeat at the hands of Adam, so it seems safe to say that there are other circumstances involved in that fight that we don't know about.

My theory is that he lost because of an order from Rossie.

In any case, they are already starting to throw out videos with spoilers from the series, so it seems safe to say that many (if not all) of them will be in the final version.

Very funny how Alastor just became the hype over the years.
