I would simply add that it heightens his reaction time.
Wait what? Sasuke never fought anyone of note in shippuden without the Sharingan active. And later on he usually used the MS so much to the point of going blind, thus needing the EMS.
 
He abused the MS because of the other powers, not because he needed to keep up with people.

And most times I remember, the chakra seeing and other abilities is what helps Sasuke. He went from getting blitzed with the thing to keeping up, using a BASIC sharingan - when is this big a difference ever a thing in any of his fights? Or how many times he's predicting and easily handling people he's obviously comparable with, which he did easily with Naruto? None come to mind except against people way below him (Sound ninja during that training, fodder Samurai).
