Guts violates.
He's more skilled, has soul manip and although hellboy scales a bit higher he has no hax to show for.
This is end of Golden Age arc Guts, so he doesn't have Dragonslayer or Arm Cannon here, meaning he doesn't have any of the hax abilities that his Dragonslayer would grant him as the Black Swordsman. In addition, I believe that Hellboy's rather skilled himself. I mean, just look at this:

Since the battle location is at the Hill of Swords, Hellboy could easily grab one of the swords and engage Guts in a sword fight the way he did against Nuada in the film. He can also play the long-ranged game with his guns, and since Guts doesn't have his arm cannon here, he can't match the long-ranged game either.

Even end of the golden age Guts could already be considered the strongest human in the verse, capable of easily outskill heterodoxy martial styles like the kushan one

I know Hellboy starts by shooting, and here is where Guts would most likely get hurt. But i assume our half demon have limited ammo, and in close combats for what i said the 100 man slayer has the advantage

Only thing he needs to pay attention is Hellboy bulk arm, who would break a sword of two. But considering the battlefield Guts would just pick another sword and continue to make small wounds in the opponent until he wins.

The AP difference sure helps Hellboy a lot, but the whole point of Guts (Especially before the Berserk Armor) Is to fight enemies stronger than him and win in the end

So yeah, voting Guts

End of Golden Age Guts actually does have the cannon and Dragon Slayer.
But you're right in that he (shouldn't) have the Dragon Slayer hax, as that was obtained by killing thousands of demons and soaking the blade in the blood and hatred of astral entities, and Guts in this key has killed a grand total of, one, apostle.

Tbh I don't see many ways Hellboy can take this. Guts has got him pretty much beat in in skill and Stamina, two of the most important aspects in a fight where both combatants are nearly equal. The only way I can see Hellboy coming out on top is by abusing his shotgun to injure Guts and bypass Dragonslayer. Otherwise Guts seems to be the more skilled fighter and the more versatile as he is used to being outmatched and fighting while wounded. IMO Guts takes this 9 times out of 10, Guts only loses if Hellboy abuses the shotgun in his arsenal and whittle down Guts. My vote is for Guts

Yea, forgot to mention that I'm choosing to use Guts' during Griffith's retrieval in the OP details, so the one that fought Wyald. On Guts' page, this is allowed, as it even specifies this difference in the Notes section of the page, and during Griffith's rescue he didn't have the arm cannon or the Dragonslayer yet.

After seeing the arguments, I think Guts would take this mid-to-high diff because of his higher stamina and for his experience fighting stronger opponents. The terrain could also give him an advantage and give him the chance to wound Hellboy, which would eventually give Guts the chance to land the finishing blow. And with my vote, grace can start.
