Godzilla Shin Evangelion (2019) Feats and Discussion

Maybe we should add Shin Ghidorah profile to this wiki.

What about the gravity of Ghidorah or his AP, he was toying with the Eva units.

Will add screenshots if needed although they will all be of low quality due to the nature of the available footage

For Godzilla, the following feats are displayed:

-Doesn't even budge when attacked by any of the units while a simple headbutt is enough to send 02 tumbling backwards a fair distance

-Takes no significant damage from what appears to be a Progressive Knife (due to the quality of the available footage, it's a little hard to make out)

-Makes a 180 degree turn in a little over a second and moves about as fast as other movie Godzillas, which is noteable for something that barely moves in the original movie

-Energy output is outright unmeasureable by NERV's tech as displayed on two separate screens

-Easily overpowers 3 Gravity Beams combined

-Total beam duration before he needs to recharge is 24 seconds, which is very low compared to ~108 seconds from the movies (might have been drained of energy here, but it's hard to tell what exactly Ghidorah is doing there due to a seat obscuring the scene in the available footage)

-Can absorb energy from the Gravity Beams without any visible damage, which is enough to not only allow him to use his beam, but to retreat into the sea as well

One odd thing to note is that he doesn't visibly adapt to his enemies although it is possible that he enhanced his beam to get around Ghidorah's shield at some point before he blasts him with dorsal plate beams. I mean he can increase his mass hundredfold in less than 20 seconds and make new elements on demand. Wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

For Ghidorah:

-Moves through the air through unknown means as if swimming (wings are not used for flight at all)

-Passively generates thunderstorms

-Gravity Beams have a 0 gravity effect on whatever they hit in addition to being able to shatter AT fields in a single shot (however, a cone of light is generated first, telegraphing the attack like a video game boss)

-Can manipulate gravity/magnetism to draw floating debris towards the target using its wings

-Can warp Godzilla's beam around its body a lot like anime MechaGodzilla and Ghidorah, but it's either something it activates consciously or it stops working when too close to the enemy

-Might be capable of draining energy (see above)

-Scales can withstand a direct hit from Godzilla's beam, but they seem to be weaker on his chest and the blue mass underneath is more fragile

-Can survive getting stabbed in exposed blue mass with a bladed weapon about as long as 01's torso

-Violently explodes when the blue mass is hit by Godzilla beam

Of course, without a full translation, all we can rely on is visuals. The only translated dialogue of any use states that Godzilla is not an angel here and Gendo Ikari identifies him as, well, Godzilla.

Bumping the thread, but the Evangelion side of the crossovers is Rebuild of Evangelion specifically as Asuka Shikinami is present instead of Sohryu, among other things.

The question is should this portrayal of Shin Godzilla be considered the same as the original one or should it be separated?

It's non canon. It doesn't fit with either timeline, the second impact would have already happened at the time Shin Godzilla appeared

We have Jorge Joestar versions of certain JoJo characters when the novel is non-canon (more so than this crossover could ever be), so, it can exist separately. As far as the crossover is concerned, Godzilla is still here after the second impact and not many people know about him (Gendo does, but Misato doesn't). Godzilla himself is much more active than in the movie on top of prioritizing King Ghidorah above humans despite never facing him before (as far as we know) and he never tries to kill any of the pilots despite being fully capable of one shotting them here

I'm gonna bring up an obvious issue: This spectacle isn't officially canon to the Shin Godzilla movie, nor to Neon-Genesis Evangelion, as nothing indicates so (unlike the case of Zone Fighter x Showa Godzilla, where as far as I know, Zone Fighter is officially part of the Showa Timeline), Shin G and Evangelion taking place decades apart from each other and the fact that it's just a crossover.

Because of this, creating a profile for "Eva-Crossover" Shin Goji may be redundant because it would be literally identical to the already existing Shin G profile, despite having more impressive feats. Same thing with "Goji-Crossover" Eva mechs.

A Shin King Ghidorah would be fine though.

Well I didn't know this existed
Welcome to Japan.

Shin Godzilla is the most high-grossing Godzilla movie in Japan ever made, and the marketing shows it. Consider also the fact that it has been directed by the same guy who directed Evangelion, and such a crossover becomes obvious.

Such an event had been announced shortly after the release of Shin Godzilla, but it was an April Fools initially. But now it's the real deal.

It seems like a waste to completely ignore it. The massive difference in stats and even behavior (from a mostly passive, but incredibly destructive beast to the usual anti-hero Godzilla that, in spite of already having the lasers, doesn't try to exterminate humanity like he normally would have), in addition to the lack of display of his ability to evolve (which is very important because that's his response to all problems and he just doesn't do that here even when Ghidorah deflects his beam), make this one different enough.

Even Shin-chan version of him could warrant his own profile and that one strays even further from the movie (although that one is outright malicious and much weaker, the exact opposite of GvE portrayal).

The problem is that his Giant God(zilla) Warriors would have broken off long before the rest of him thawed out and then humanity would be completely exterminated in a matter of weeks (or days if they develop the ability to fly, which is very likely). Remember, by the time we are shown the tail, it's no longer frozen at all and it hasn't even been that long since Yashiori operation.

Also, he didn't grow at all. 120 meters is the rounded number. He's still 118 meters tall.

Might have been rounded too like his height. Would be really weird for his weight to be higher while his height is the same.

Bumping, but I believe that we really need a Shin Ghidorah profile and it doesn't seem like anything's been done about that so far.

He should scale to Evangelion characters, with AP surpassing their AT-field durability and ability to deflect attacks from Godzilla, whose AP here is at least 4 times higher. Whether it works like anime Ghidorah's ability or it has a limit is unknown and I'm not sure which should be used.

Not sure how to go about it when the footage available is limited to camrips. Some other things like his magnetism and the beams themselves might need calcs too

can someone else who can formulate this request do it

The fact that it doesn't hit any of the characters makes it a little harder to judge, but there are some explosions for what it's worth
