That is what he was doing, yeah, there wasn't much contact between him and Thor, just Thor swirling from Jormie to Ragnarok but never making contact, so to speak.

You know, speaking of the Boots of Hermes, what even happened to them? They're one of the only items/weapons that weren't destroyed, and were still seen on Kratos.

Nah, PoH restored all of his godly powers and even brought his soul back to boot.
They were visible in the 2018 demo if you squint a bit but they haven't made an appearance in the final game.

When I mean hax, I'm also talking about the artifacts he carried along the course of the games though, such as the Oath Stone of Orkos.
That's a shame. Perhaps they'll make an appearance in a later game or at least mentioned, since the Boots of Hermes never really got a conclusion to it.

He's had it since at least GOW2 if I'm not mistaken, he could always nullify Status Effects like Petrification or Siren Stunning just by activating his Rage.
