Let's say for interest sake that it's base Itachi but without any illness, is there any way for him to combat GERs reset to zero ability?

The actions will only be nullified when he tries to make them. After GER reverts it, Itachi can try to do it again. Its a constant nulling, so it isnt incap

Range has nothing to do with this. Automatic just means GER acts before giorno gives orders, doesn't mean he is gonna undo itachi's thoughts.
