That's actually a good question...The main game stuff is canon to Heroes, so I'd assume in-theory they should. I suppose a mix of Game Mechanics (skill slot restrictions) and PIS are the main explanation?
I think I may have discovered something that would give everyone passive fate manipulation via this. Basically, according to Kaga (who's WoG still mattered at the time, and hasn't been retconned) Quintessence represents a "force of fate" which represents a pre-ordained destiny for an individual, and it ensures characters who aren't meant to die yet can be brought back (or at least not die until they are supposed to).
As far as FE7 portrays it, I always thought of Quintessence as Elibe's version of Ki/Chakra. It's consistent that stronger characters are implied to have heavy amounts of it.
Yeah, not even just implied either, it's outright stated that "the quintessence in each person varies in strength. A person of strong mind and body has hundreds of times more energy than the average person."
As far as I know, Sacred Stones is the only mainline FE game where I'm unsure if a "Universal Power Source" exists. Marth's timeline has Holy Bloods via FE4 in which characters like Marth and Alm have similar concepts for why they can use the Falchion, and Noble Sword in the latter's case. The ability to use Dragon Veins also seems consistent with Holy Blood lore. Elibe has Quintessence stated above. Tellius Games have Spirit of Order and Spirit of Chaos. And Three Houses has Crests.
Really glad FE4 just introduced the concept of giving characters skill in their blood, which then retroactively applies to Marth, Alm, and Celica for also having Holy Blood
In Alm and Celica's case, it's not stated what kind of skill increase they'd have, but it's safe to assume Marth would actually reasonably be able to use Light Magic had he ever wanted to
Yea Book V was honestly my least favorite book by far. I hope Vanaheim and Asgard are more interesting.
And I wonder who is gonna join the Lifevngers this time
Well, credit where it's due, at least this book more or less wrapped everything up in the end.
Though I've been wondering... once they wrap up this Fire & Ice thing they've been doing, do you think maybe we'll get similar things for the rest of the books? I'm mostly asking as it'd give them an excuse to give Ascended versions of other FEH OCs (Ascended Eir, Ascended Peony, etc.). Still not quite sure who else qualifies to becoming an Ascended Hero, at the moment...
Just started playing through FE7, and I noticed that regular bandits by themselves are easily capable of destroying entire villages, which might give an AP upgrade.
Actually, we talked about village busting bandits all the time for the GBA cast. The narratives describe it as a raid, implying they didn't like nuke it with a single axe swing and what not. Also Ross and Garcia escaping a village also kinda disproved it being a oneshot considering he recieved a scratch during the raid. Not to mention the actual villages aren't quite town sized since actual towns are like larger than most chapter maps in the GBA FE games. It's not like FE 4 where individual chapter maps are essentially taking place across an entire country almost.
It's possible we could scale to Niime freezing the river
At first I was thinking it would probably be Environmental Destruction, but magic in Elibe all comes from the same source (spirits, dark ones in Niime's case)
Wonder if I can make GBA Dark magic users "At least High 8-C" cause Canas just states that Dark Magic is stronger than Anima... granted he could be referring to the magic triangle
Dark Magic is the strongest of the triangle for the reason axes are the strongest of the weapon triangle. But also the hardest to wield; aka lowest accuracy and highest weight ect.
New Mystery is definitely underrated, people just don't like it because "Kris bad" (which isn't even necessarily true tbh, outside of a few scenes of avatar worship, but if that's all it takes to make a "bad game" then Awakening and Three Houses should be garbage)
I really liked Kris tbh, and personality varies depending on character selection. Also, Byleth and Robin were badasses. Corrin's the only avatar where I can hear "Mary Sue" complaints though.
it could maybe be argued that it's a universal energy source. The power of the First Dragons/Their blood is known to amp individuals. (Like with Odin, Laslow and Severa)
That is true, but Lilith isn't really portrayed as being all that powerful, being oneshotted by Hans and a Faceless, being comparable to the playable cast in Invasions
Well she is significantly weakened if she isn't in Valla or the Astral Plane. At her peak, she is pretty powerful, seeing as she stomped characters like Owain.
