No, they first lose their bioelectricity, and then get hit with the blast of Ray Field energy. Anyone with high enough durability can suvive the blast, since it's purely AP (like a nuke). What makes it so deadly is that it first drains you of the energy that keeps your nervous system and brain running, making it difficult to escape, and the following burst of radiation gives you super cancer, which is extremely potent and can kill you in the same day it showed up. Keep in mind that Cole can also just passively start oozing said radiation, as John did something similar when he awakened the female Conduit's powers in the warehouse, which means that you're gonna have to fight with a rapidly worsening cancer like disease and most likely suffering from radiation poisoning, which can induce nausea and even death.

Think of it as kryptonite to non-Conduit species
