YesJust the Earth's Core?
Probably yesJust found out splitting Earth requires a little over baseline Planet level amounts of power, and the Earth’s Core’s mass is 32.5% of the Earth’s mass, so splitting just the core would be Small Planet level right?
With things the size of Earth? Nah, you'd need GPE.If you meant splitting it cleanly in half. That would depend on the width of the area of the split.
Correction: Small Planet levelJust found out splitting Earth requires a little over baseline Planet level amounts of power, and the Earth’s Core’s mass is 32.5% of the Earth’s mass, so splitting just the core would be Small Planet level right?
Fair enoughWith things the size of Earth? Nah, you'd need GPE.
Yes ik, I said Small Planet level lol. But I mean just the core, not the entire planetCorrection: Small Planet level
I was talking about this part TBF:Yes ik, I said Small Planet level lol. But I mean just the core, not the entire planet

Assuming they're moving at the same speed, yes.Anyways, since the core is 32.5% of Earth’s mass, would splitting the core require 32.5% percent of the energy needed to split Earth?
So is it still 32.5% of the needed energy to split Earth?Assuming they're moving at the same speed, yes.
But the issue is that you can't split the core in half in the same way you can split a mountain or the planet in half. You can destroy material to its left and right, but unless it effects the mantel you wouldn't move anything.
Yes, but, my second sentence was to explain how that really doesn't work. You can't push just the core. If the core is split then it's just the energy needed to destroy the area between the two sides. So is it still 32.5% of the needed energy to split Earth?
Would that even work? The inner core is only solid because of that excess pressure. Taking it out would just cause the remainig material to fill that void and form another inner core.Yes, but, my second sentence was to explain how that really doesn't work. You can't push just the core. If the core is split then it's just the energy needed to destroy the area between the two sides.
Not permanently, sinc elite you said they'd just smash together again.Would that even work?
