EA makes history

I shudder to think that someone, somewhere, may do all that. Redlettermedia warned us of this! I think. Someone get us the link of the guy pouring a box of Legos an himself while bellowing "STAR WAAAAAAAARS!"

@Ever

That is just to make sure you get a sense of accomplishment!

But seriously that is more time than I put into RuneScape, a game I played for nearly a decade.

Alternatively, you can spend two grand to get everything.

Which you could otherwise use to buy two computers.

Let's bring some math here.

Assuming you play the game for five hours every single day and don't buy anything.

It will take nearly two and a half years to get all the content.

@Ever And that's also assuming said person will play the game for that long

I have played TF2 (the game I've played the longest) for years, and it's nowhere near 4.5k hours in total.

Nor the amount I've spent on games even comes close to 2k dollars. I could get hundreds of games instead.

"What does EA do, you ask?"
"They give you a game that isn't finished. And then they never finish it."
Teen... you've got some good taste in YouTubers.

EA:

HA!

We're EA, mock us all you want, but we're still siting on a mountain of your hard-earned cash! You think we give a shit about your childhood?! We still don't have the one thing money can't buy...SOULS!!!

Wait a minute, what kind of content is being locked away, though? Is it just cosmetic?
I'm only aware of hero characters being locked. No idea about anything else.

TL;DR of the EA AMA: "We'll be [looking into] changing parts of the game you hate which may or may not be satisfactory or even happen. Except for gamble boxes, microtransactions, and anything that makes us money... we're keeping those."

...gamble boxes...
I love TF2 to death, but I really hate the effect its had on the gaming industry. Big companies copying stuff lie it's crates and micro-transaction method without realizing what made TF2s system actually tolerable.

To bad I missed the AMA. I bet it was a mess.

Good lord now BF2 is on Wikipedia's page for the most controversial games ever.

And apparently it's being investigated in Belgium if the loot boxes count as gambling.

There are actually gambling sites based around lootboxes. I used to get ads for them constantly with people shilling them everywhere I went.

How the **** do you turn stupid loot boxes in games into illegal gambling.

EA:

Hey, it's making us money- I mean, OH! What?! We had no idea about this!
