Durability of the Gems

The "multiple calculations" is basically reduced to energy-mass convertion calculated several times, the tractor beam one do not scale to no one, and the drill calc is wrong. As for the 6-C ones, the Garnet surviving in the sun's core was debunked and no "base" gems scale to the Warship, so there's only the Saphire one (that is high balled) and the Island monster (that is ambiguos).

Ah, I see.

That'll explain why I'm doubtful on Steven Universe's ratings. I always thought that this verse was a bit overrated.

If Sapphire is 6-C then everyone else would be higher as they are all explicitly stronger than Sapphire, as well as the fact that Sapphire isn't a gem made for combat yet someone like Amethyst is made for combat and is the weakest member of the gems but is still stronger than Sapphire. Also if Aquamarine is downgraded then it would probably only be to 6-B as she was able to knock out Steve in one blow casually, so she'd likely be higher.

Man, that is one tough as hell tree to take a 6-B blow like that.

Welp, so far we got:

  • Aquamarine's rating will be changed no matter what, since Paralysis Inducement nor Telekinesis are AP related (any attemp of comparing with other verses will be Appeal to Popularity), and launching Pearl into the air wouldn't be above 1.2 tnt tons.
  • No one scale to the potentially tractor beam's laser since no one tanked it (comparing with other verses that do the same is Appeal to Popularity), and being "fragile" do not justify anything. So that reasoning will be removed, whetever Gems stay 6-B or not.
  • Every gem at the same level than Opal or below do not scale to the Warship, since the last one was unable to cause any notable damage. Not sure if the profiles still use this reasoning but if any it should be removed.
  • Garnet's surviving in the Sun's core is no longer usable as Kepekley already pointed out, and yet the statement refer to the temperature of the sun's core rather than the sun's core itself (no pressure involved), so value is not High 6-C.
So only thing left is decide if use E-M convertion or not. Currently Assault and me oppose to the idea, however Weekly and Matt still support it. In case of being accepted density of the respective gemstone should be used rather than water or steel, and I suggested to use standard weight of the gems since shapeshifting generally makes then stronger (via increasing size).

Oneshot? Don't remember, but few of then are weaker than (at least) Garnet while being bigger. Few other characters can also shapeshift and reform and yet they are pretty weak, like Peridot, Steven in the first episodes and few corrupted gems.

OK the page isn't opening up for me (probably got copyright claimed but Pearl killed a town sized monster, so that kinda shoots the E^M in the foot (I'm not totally against using it, I just want someone to explain stuff, like why is Peridot small building level when she also uses E^M to make her body)
BA64DE5C-9905-4AF9-906B-182D8ADA0EED

Wait actually real quick if Garnets hands can reach 55 or 8 teratons (depending on iron or water) with E^M why did nobody calc sugilite, whom is the size of a building. And why does she have two of the same pictures (with one being of lower quality than the other).

That has to be the most useless costume change I have ever seen. It barely changes, and the image is still very low quality

Also, those gems no longer use E-M convertion for its yield and rather use scaling, using e-m would downgrade her since it need a height of 50 m in order to yield its current AP (another reason why e-m shouldn't be the case).

Yeah I feel like Rebecca wanted to reference E-M without realizing what it meant. I'm leaning toward not using it, but I'm still on the fence

Peridot is not physically strong (in combat, she is pretty tanky), using E-M on her would makes her High 7-A to 6-C, and we all known that isn't true. Other gems use the same principle, Fluorite isn't strong neither, no one of the off-color aren't, and few corrupted gems are weak enough to be dealt by humans despite its size.

Seriously tho, what is up with that? Even if it is decided that the E-M is useful, shouldn't it be used for everyone instead of being used randomly like this?

I think the E-M method vastly inflates most characters above their actual feats.

And it doesn't make a lot of sense to me personally; "They use this much energy in order to make their physical form, so they can use this much energy to punch something."

Doesn't really work I think.

Stevonnie also physical walked off a cliff in that scene, so if Garnet was mind manipulationing her that wouldn't have had happened.
