Dragon Ball: Tournament of Power Revisions Continued

So from the discussion list in the OP, we've resolved quite a few.

Staying 3-A

  • Piccolo: 3-A by the ToP. Not sure what he should be in the U6 Arc.
  • Obuni: Scales to Ultimate Gohan, albeit with stamina issues.
  • Magetta: Scales to SSJ Vegeta who was clearly not holding too much back.
  • Pirina and Saonel: Fought with Piccolo and Ultimate Gohan after revealing their true power.
Downgraded

  • Nigrisshi: His only real showing is getting his ass handed to him by a casual base Cabba.
  • Viara: Would at best keep "Possibly 3-A" for his durability.

^If people are OK with the above, I can update the OP.

That means the characters who still need to have their tiers determined are:

  • Cabba (Leaning towards staying 3-A)
  • Ultimate Katopesla (Fought briefly with SSJ Vegeta, though lost relatively quickly after Vegeta powered up)

I am also just now realizing that the Supreme Kai's comment on Nigrisshi being U3's strongest modified warrior came before Nigrisshi had shown him literally anyone else who had been modified for the Tournament.

Also, does Obuni really scale to Ultimate Gohan? I was under the impression he held off on his full power until the Namekians.

@Matt

He scales to a held-back Ultimate Gohan. He didn't use the full power of his Ultimate form until Saonel and Pirina, I believe, considering he directly states that he's going to stop holding back.

I definitely agree that Piccolo should be 3-A same with Frost. Goku did sense a high power level from Frost and Vados said he was the best fighter of the team aside from Hit. And while Goku in SSJ1 form could stomp Frost, he's still portrayed as being above Goku's base form. And in Tournament of Power, he wasn't overwhelmingly weaker than base form Frieza, and Frieza waiting for Frost to lower his guard down does sort of imply he may or may not consider Frost a potential threat. Albeit Golden Frieza still stomped Frost while Frost's guard was down.

And yeah, Damon knocking out Piccolo was sheer PIS. You'd think Piccolo would be the first character to notice Damon's weakness given his enhanced hearing Additionally, he was exhausted from fighting the two Namakian characters alongside Ultimate Gohan and taking out the rest of U4's fighters.

Gohan said he doesn't have to worry about killing them. He then says that's why he's going at full power. This doesn't mean he was suppressed until now, it just means he wasn't actually trying to kill the other opponents, and that he's going to use his full power because he can actually use it without killing them. This actually makes sense, because you see him use tons of brutal tactics in the fight, like tearing off their arms and absolutley smashing them through the ground.

Also, I can't believe I've forgotten about him this whole thread, but Basil has a completely unnecessary 3-A key. He's basically assumed to have jumped from 4-B to 3-A in the time between the Zen Exhibition Match and the ToP, with the reasoning basically being that SSJ Vegeta kicked his ass and that he instantly lost a beam struggle with two SSBs... which are terrible reasons.

It should go without saying that the only member of the Trio de Dangers who is actually 3-A is Bergamo, and that's only after absorbing 3-A damage from a SSB.

That's The OBD's logic

Also, who's still left to discuss? I mentioned stuff with Maji=Kayo earlier (I love how that = is part of his name).

We should preferably update the to clarify who remains, who should be downgraded, and who's left to discuss. Makes it easier for the more recent readers.

IIRC, Vegeta considered Cabba the weakest member of the U6 team earlier because he couldn't even go Super Saiyan; and that was despite the fact that he considered Piccolo and Gohan strong enough to enter the tournament. Although, Botamo is kind of a rubber tank; just a super durable character with not so great AP.

I also think Katopesla in all his forms (mainly the last 2) are 3-A. His Ultimate form for sure for fighting Vegeta. His raging battle mode differs from his ultimate mode in that his ultimate multiplies both his power and speed by 300, whereas the raging mode only multiplies his power.

By our tiering system even if we divide his power in all forms by 300 he'd still be universal unless he was baseline, which he isn't. The only thing he gained by going ultimate mode on Vegeta is the speed boost in addition to the power boost he already had.

Also if a 300x boost helps him keep up with Vegeta as a SSJ, then he's likely MFTL+ in all his keys as well, so all his keys probably need to be adjusted.

I think Matt was talking about UMR's comment about Katopesla. If so, I agree with him on that.
