Doom Eternal Revision Thread Part 4

The duration only matters if someone wasn’t there for eons. Doomguy was there for eons so he would get the full blunt of the effect. I also don’t see it being passive is any way relevant.

Also from the Codex: Nekravol - Part 1
"It exists as an overseer of sorts, awaiting as cages packed with the recently-slain are brought before it, determining which souls are candidates for the Argent process." - Referring to Nekravol.

There's a chance the Soul Manipulation doesn't even work how you claim it does. Due to this entry, Hell can seemingly only affect those who have been captured/slain by Hells forces, who had been placed in the cages and sent to Nekravol, where it decides whether or not they're worthy of being transformed into energy.

The way I see it the process is:
  1. People must get killed and sent to Hell, where they're caged and sent to Nekavrol
  2. Nekravol determines whether their Souls are "candidates for the Argent Process"
    1. "The Argent-worthy souls are directed deeper into the black fortress" - Nekravol - Part 1
      1. These are the one's that are extracted and transformed into Demons over Eons.
    2. "Those who he renders unfit are discarded as waste, their tortured souls thrown into the burning sludge of the Blood Swamps." - Nekravol - Part 1
The Slayer doesn't fit this cycle at all, he wanders Hell fueled by hatred, he hasn't been killed and sent to Hell. He's willingly there, and has not been herded like the victims. The Soul Manipulation takes place in Nekavrol over billions of years. The Slayer has not been through this cycle at all.

As you just said nekravol is for the process of making argent energy specifically. Hell as whole has a passive corruption/soul manip process throughout the entire 2-B dimension that makes Hell Essence. Hell captures entire dimensions and soul haxes the entire population of survivors from that dimension into hell essence, that’s why there are limitless demons in the first place.

Okay so since it seems that Ancient Gods Part 2 is setting itself up as the showdown between the Slayer and Davoth, are the developers of ID Software going to treat this as the end of the DOOM franchise as a whole or something? Maybe I'm overthinking it but you can't get more "big finale" then fighting the guy who rules over Hell as your opposite.

We have already established the difference between Hell Essence and Argent energy. Hell Essence comes from Hell’s natural process of absorbing souls from the the worlds they conquer and turning the soul less husk into a demon. That is how Hell makes its demons from its natural soul manip.

I'm still iffy but for now I don't have time to keep arguing my point. It seems fine for now, I'll bring it up later or in another thread if I still have any issues.
For now I guess it seems good enough.

What was the Rune thing again?

Post Night Sentinel key still needs adding yes.

It should be noted that the Crucible only negates Type 4 if the blade remains in the opponent.

I finished applying the AP changes.
Yeah, let's focus on the concrete stuff.

  • Reactive Power Level | Desperate Punch - Blood Punch deals double damage when your health is 75 or less.
  • Unsure | Take Back - When a demon causes an Extra Life to activate, it can be killed within a short time to gain Extra Life back.
  • Explosion Manipulation | Break Blast - Destroying a Weak Point generates a concussive blast.
Take Back should be limited ressurection

Desperate punch is likely a stat amp instead

Reactive Power level seems fine for Desperate Punch

Take back looks like limited resurrection

and yeah Break Blast is Explosion manipulation.

I'm not that knowledgeable on Dark Souls, but the effect doesn't have to be permanent for Reactive Power Level.

If you can’t manually activate it and it only actives under battle conditions it would be reactive power level. But this case it’s limited because it only the 2x boost

Demons sent their fiercest Titan against the Doom Slayer, and he killed it without access to a crucible. Blood Temple collapse is only an argument against Lifting Strength; the demons froze him on stasis and entombed him while prepped, and there is no evidence that the Doom Slayer was rendered unconscious from the temple collapse.

The Crucibles used by the Doom Slayer places Titans on stasis (and thus effectively dead) as long as the blade is inside them. But there is no evidence that Titans have resurrection, and they can be killed with sufficient firepower as seen by the Atlan Mechs and the corpse of the Titan the Doom Slayer killed.
Sleep Inducement or Paralysis Inducement seem to fit best.

Immortality Type 2 is based on something too vague to qualify as legitimate Type 2 (pushing through mortal wounds doesn't mean that he can survive indefinitely with his head or heart pierced). The feat was attributed to his sheer rage, so it should be linked to his Rage Power.

I'll clear the matches later.

So we should revise the Crucible to having a form of stasis or sealing?

I’ll take care of that.

I think the Crucible should have stasis rather than sealing. It’s more of putting the Titan’s in a coma rather than actually sealing them into the blade.

Because it's not a direct thing, consider that a x7 AP amp goes from a painful but manageable hit to something that's got good odds of knocking you out completely, of course that's way more than 7 times the damage inflicted.
