Do you prefer Interesting character or character with interesting powers?

Do you prefer interesting, complex, well-written character with dull powers or boring character with creative, interesting and just cool powers? Why?

I prefer the second one, because creating a character with good powers requires more creativity and extensive knowledge of physics, chemistry, etc. I also like interesting characters, but they do not make such an impression on me.

When actually watching/reading the series: Interesting character, no question about it; it doesn't matter how OP the characters are if they suck, just ask Lionel Suggs.

When researching or debating about the verse: Interesting powers; it's more fun.
