Disney Discussion Thread

You're sort of right, both times (and consistent too; one comment suggests FTL).

So I’ve recently had a bit of a brainwave.

Once Upon A Studio for the longest time has been in this really weird spot for me. Because I was never quite sure where to put it because it’s depictions of the Toons kind of differ from Toontown and all that — but then it hit me. It doesn’t. It actually really fits.

The verse already toys with ‘breaking the fourth wall’ in a literal sense to cross dimensions. That’s been done a couple times like in Get A Horse and Runaway Railway. But Steamboat Silly is what really changes things. An already existing Steamboat Willie Mickey jumps out of the short and exists as he was then in the modern day.

If we look at Once Upon A Studio, the Mickey in there isn’t the modern Mickey. It’s a Mickey from Mickey’s Birthday Party, a short from 1942 with his cel preserved in the studio come to life. Just like Steamboat Silly and the other Mickeys that are released. So we now have this additional information that if a painting or film of a Toon exists, it is able to exit that medium as well. Like the Weeping Angels.

Does our "Mickey Mouse & Friends" Verse page also covers this?
About the comics, would PKNA and X-Mickey be featured here?

I know lol.

I wondered if them as stand-alone verses can be here I mean.
Oh, sorry. It’s like midnight rn and I’m sleepy.

Yes, they can. I think they belong to a certain sub-division of Disney comics that I’ve been planning to compile into their own more refined verse. The problem is most of them are Italian.

On Read Comics Online they're translated in English :)

I can send them in your DMs, given that this forum blocks the links as I said lmao.
I think PK and X-Mickey are, but I was mostly talking about the entire Mickey comic line they’re apart of, as well as Wizards of Mickey, which has it’s first few arcs translated to English but not the rest sadly.

PK and X-Mickey should be doable though, and I usually just screenshot RCO stuff and upload them to imgur anyways.

Yeah Topolino in itself is absurdly large, and while I do think it qualifies as being its own continuity, I do not remotely think that anyone would want to go over 3600 weekly issues just to index it lmao.

I do remember some 8D things there too but I was in like 5th grade when I read that so that's prolly lost media.

you would be surprised what i was willing to do for sabrina

But yeah, the PK and X-Mickey comic runs are a good start and would probably find pretty welcome homes on the wiki. PK in particular feels long overdue.

To avoid derailing the other thread, @DimeUhDozen, can you explain this in more detail?
Basically, Once Upon A Studio is the only thing connecting Wish and various other movies within the studio’s filmography to the Mickey Mouse canon. Above, I found a way to make it fit into it, but the details of how it connects to the larger scope of things is still unclear.

Bump. Um, about Disney's Alice in Wonderland. I just learned this and I had to mention it.

The Disney Junior show Alice's Wonderland Bakery confirms two... absurd facts.
- The main protagonist is the original Alice's great great-granddaughter. It's directly the sequel of Disney's Alice in Wonderland.
- Wonderland is a fricking real place that Alice dreamed into existence.

That is…

An insane Subjective Reality feat for Alice.

1000% . Oh by the way if you weren't convinced this show directly connects to the original Alice in Wonderland, like... This should be the direct confirmation right here

Like, oh dear god. I need to actually look into the entirety of this series because unfortunately in the movie Wonderland's nature isn't really... put into detail. The video basically says in Wonderland Anything is Possible, but that's... not specific enough so I'm probably going to need to look deeper into this series, both seasons, as well as the original Alice in Wonderland and whatever.

(laughs in Monkey Island; wonder what kind of "haxes" LeChuck'll get in a upcoming blog fight with those words)
And it came out. If GoCommitDi happens to spot this, no need to argue as we got new stuff for the other verse which is why I shared this.

Okay so, Wonderland definitely has a Day/Night cycle thanks to what I watched on Wonderland's Bakery so far, so Tier 5/4 is a given.

SO. I have a question. Still haven't watched every episode of Alice's Wonderland Bakery so I'll be sure to give an update when I can. But, assuming Wonderland is as Alice described it to be to her sister "If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrariwise, what it is, it wouldn’t be, and what it wouldn’t be, it would", what in the heck would this translate to from this site's perspective ? To me it implies a world that is so contradictory that literally anything can happen, similar to a logical explosion when contradictions are proven true.

If you guys are wondering why I haven't done a Sofia the First profile, there are three reasons:
1: It's Five Seasons. It's going to take a while to find time to rewatch it and document it.
2: Elena of Avalor also needs to be watched and researched, considering it's the same verse and they dive much deeper into the magical side of the series.
3: The sequel to the series coming early next year is going to give a lot of insight into the magical side of the series , with it taking place in a Magical School, and canonically in between STF's Ending and Elena of Avalor's Ending, and considering it's directly stated by the review that Sofia is THE most magically gifted being in the verse she is likely going to get a lot of stuff. So while I may not try to publish the profile beforehand, I'll likely have a sandbox for the first series ready by then.

So I'm planning a revision for Cars on the wiki. So far I've been working on Lighting's canon and game profile
Update on this. I'm mostly done with both profiles, the game profile still needs some tweaks and I need to add some weapon abilities. I'm mostly just waiting to see if I can get something calced since I don't wanna have to make a separate crt for stats later.

BTW, are there any plans to formalize a "Disneyverse" of sorts given the push that Disney media seems to have been doing on that regard (a shared cosmology/setting) in recent decades (given that before that there were just random cameos)? Asking because given Gravity Falls is explicitly a part of this mess out of the Book of Bill canonizing the Chibiverse, that'd have some interesting tiering implications for series that can be argued to interact with the whole cosmology. I'd still keep KH outside of this as I mentioned here, however.

Speaking of Disneyverse, wouldn’t Mickey Mouse Funhouse be really important to look into as it’s a series explicitly looking into the concept of other realities

Surely, I recall Sofia the First and Tangled TAS poke on the idea too.
StF doesn't just poke at the idea, from what Craig (the Creator of StF) said and what the final season hints at, the other realms Vor was talking about going to conquer is referring to all the other Disney stories, and he confirmed had Sofia not stopped her she would've conquered them all (which is insane to think about).

Okay so Chelsea Beyl straight up says in the interview on Animation Scoop that Alice's Wonderland Bakery is DIsney canon, hence why they could use the portrait of original Alice. Chelsea Beyl also says in the interview on WorldScreeen Events that Alice is the descendant of the 1951 Alice, so yeah, there isn't any wiggle room to argue that it's non-canon.

Alice's First Day in Wonderland effectively confirms that Bakery Alice had no idea what Wonderland was or who any of the characters were, and even fell for the exact same things her great-grandmother did in the original 1951 movie, which would make no sense if she was told anything about Wonderland, so the idea she dreamed it up is quite literally illogical. So, the only logical conclusion is she traveled to Disney Movie Alice's Wonderland, which means it's real. If anyone has a problem with my thought process please let me know, but this seems concrete enough.

Which means I'd need to do a CRT on 1951 Disney Movie Alice (if she even has a profile here considering she has no real combat feats) , and then figure out what the heck I should tier her creation of Wonderland at (considering how contradictory Wonderland is and all) . It's Tier 4 at the minimum considering the Night and Day Cycle and clear starry sky in some of the episodes. Issue is Alice's quote about how Wonderland is and how logically impossible it is.

There once was a profile for the Chesire Cat IIRC, but it was removed out of being basically featless at the time of its indexing.

We've been getting a bunch of RTs from this Reddit user lately, but what takes the cake is Melody (Ariel's daughter) surviving a island-decimating volcanic explosion, and traveling from Arctic to Europe and then back in a same day.

With gone video files and all on our Tarzan page, this would do beside a potential upgrade.
