Disney Discussion Thread

So uh, are the Uncle Scrooge comics made by Disney canon to the Disneyverse ? I don't really know how the Disney canon works tbh, could someone explain it ?
They aren’t. Ducktales and Uncle Scrooge are two very different things without canonical references to each other. In fact, going off of a lore standpoint, they’d contradict themselves pretty openly if they were.
Does Donald Dock scales to Scrooge? Given that he is comparable to Mickey we can make a scaling chain using that

I'm asking this more for speed than AP btw, so just they keeping up with each other in speed should be enough for the scaling
I dunno, I’d have to see to find out. If you can find some scans of Donald scaling to Scrooge and rack up some Ducktales feats, maybe. However, I’d recommend not going with the giant money bin crash feat as it’s taken largely out of context with Scrooge himself saying he was protected from the full impact.

Draft for a CRT i'm planing:
Ok, so the below calculation got approved:

So i'd suggest it get applied on his profile

If anyone questions: This shouldn't be an outlier, Mickey is comparable to Donal Duck, who can keep up with his nephews, who by themselves can keep up with Launchpad, who is Darkwing's Duck sidekick and constantly keeps up with the latter during the Darkwing Duck cartoon. Darkwing Duck, as showed on his profile, has 3 Relativistic to higher feats

Any idea or suggestion of what i should include or exclude?

I was wondering how to get that feat up without it being deemed an outlier. Yeah, this should work.

Well that sucks, because they definitely have evidence of a 2-A Cosmology from what I read.

I’m thinking of separating Mickey’s page into 4 Keys because I’ve noticed a pattern with the calculations I’ve done for him. Most of the classic cartoons only get up to Tier 9 to 8 feats, at most High 8-C. Epic Mickey gets it’s own tiering and Mickey is stronger due to fighting Petetronic who is stated by the novelization to be stronger than Pete. Cartoons from the Eisner Era round in at around 8-A. And the Modern Era, Paul Rudish’s cartoons in particular, make a massive jump to Tier 6 Country level feats. I think this would be agreeable.

The Eisner Era is a term I'm using kind of loosely. Because really, I'm moving towards the era where you can feel Eisner's influence the most in what he deems the "Disney Decade". In other words, everything after the year 1990.

Everything before 1991 belongs in the Classic Key. Epic Mickey, given that the last project we see Mickey be in before he gets snatched by the Blot is The Prince and the Pauper (1990), plus the fact that Castle of Illusion (1990) has already happened in order for Power of Illusion to happen, means that Epic Mickey and it's sequels must have taken place at some point near 1990. Characters like Horace and Clarabelle were somewhat forgotten by this point (excluding Horace in Prince and the Pauper but even then, this isn't really him, just someone who looks like him), so this lines up pretty well since they become more prominent in the Eisner Era.

Mickey Mouse Works, Fantasmic, House of Mouse, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Disney Afternoon shows, etc. Everything from 1991 to 2005 is jumbled into the Eisner Era key.

Then everything after that is Modern where the Paul Rudish shorts are. Surprisingly not much Mickey media appeared in-between 2005 to 2013.

What would the keys look like? How would Mickey getting stronger through each era be worded?

Classic | Epic Mickey | Eisner Era | Modern

Large Building level+ (Feats here) | Large Building level, likely higher (Has fought Petetronic who is stated to be far stronger than Pete), Multi-Solar System level with accumulated Toon Heart Power | Multi-City Block level (Feats here) | Country level (Feats here), Planet level with Reality Warping

Does Mickey have any actual explanation for getting stronger over the years? (I can buy the Petetronic argument for his second key, but there doesn't seems to have an argument for the others)

Pretty sure we don't give different keys for a character unless he is directly stated to have become stronger

In Epic Mickey, there is the explanation of Petetronic as well as Mickey taking on bigger foes the more he progresses. Same thing with Castle of Illusion. I’ll have to look at any official statements on that.

But as for the Eisner Era, essentially, the style and tone has effectively changed. The feats are noticeably much grander, Mickey is actually competent with using the Sorcerer Hat now, and everything is on a much grander scale than the original cartoons. Plus, about 60 years or so have passed across the age of the original shorts, so there’s that.

For the Mickey Mouse (2013), there actually is evidence of him getting stronger with the piñata guys. He starts out getting washed by them and then minutes later, he comes back one-shotting them. I believe there are other examples but an argument could definitely be made for AD.

Seems agreedable

What do you think about making "Accumulated Toon Heart Power" as a new key for him? Also, about that one FTL proposal i had discussed earlier, would you like to include it on the blog?

ATH seems better to jumble in with Epic Mickey for now, since it would be a lot less complicated but I wouldn’t be directly opposed to it. I just see it as an addition to everything EM Mick has in base and multiple other shonen characters have their power-ups and transformations joined in the same key.

And yeah, I’m just gonna try and look over any other FTL feats we might have missed as extra support feats before that happens. Also, I need to watch Ducktales, but I’m also wanting to watch the original Donald and Goofy shorts for their profiles too, which seems like a bigger priority. So, if anyone wants to research Ducktales and it’s feats, that’d be really helpful.

hmm.... Makes sense then

I will try to research for some feats, currently working on other projects that require a bit more of research than i am used to but i can try to help on finding feats

I found an easier way to scale the main cast to the Ducks.

Goofy is way faster than the Beagle Boys, who are Scrooge’s main bad guys in DuckTales. All we have to do is scale the DT cast to Launchpad and we’re done.

Was made with Mizrabel’s magic and Mickey takes hits from Mizrabel’s magic in the final boss fight. Mizrabel states she uses all of her power during fights.

Although it may be a stretch so we might be better off sticking to the original plan.
This seems reasonable to me

And yeah, i agree with merging both keys

Nice

Tbh i don't see why we shouldn't merge all of his powers into a single key, nothing proves that he didn't had access to these powers before (Even more when you stuff that is reliant on Mickey's physiology rather than his capabilities, such as a part of his Multiple Selves)

It’s generally easier for Vs Battles staff to swallow, especially considering many of the higher end feats are from the later cartoons. It’s very hard to get cartoons in higher tiers with much opposition in favor of outliers, so this should tide them over better.

I am talking about P&A Sections, not AP

Also, we got a number of feats that are way higher than High 8-C, you can't simple ignore them

From what i remember, Mickey doesn't really have too many anti-feats that aren't either justified by the amount of superhuman feats he has or aren't simple gag moments

Basically, that comes Steamboat Silly where it’s shown that Mickey is very different from when he was in his first cartoon. He still is able to do pretty much everything he could do in the Classic era, but the episode is pretty much dedicated to showing their differences and how much Mickey has grown throughout his history.

Just watched the short, this seems a valid justification, yes

So, will you proceed with the idea of merging the Eisner and Modern eras?

Working on a Timeline/Canon Blog for the Mickey Mouse Universe based on what's currently accepted

What exactly makes stuff like "Silly Symphonies", "Disney Experiences" and "The Mickey Mouse Club" canon?
Silly Symphonies can be packaged with the original Mickey Sound Cartoons. They’re the OG cartoons. It should be non-controversial

Epic Mickey directly canonizes Disneyland, with Wasteland being a direct copy of the park. There’s a scene where Mickey looks at the statue that’s supposed to be of Walt and Mickey, but now it’s Walt and Oswald.

The Mickey Mouse Club has lots of references from all over the series. I believe there’s merch from it planted in Mickeyjunk Mountain and Steamboat Silly. But the main thing is that it’s theme song is everywhere when it comes to Mickey.

Alright, i ended the writing for the Explanation Blog:

What do you people think of it? Any suggestions of what i could add?
Great work, but a couple of things to mention.

ALL of the shorts in House of Mouse are Mickey Mouse Works shorts. They’re basically companion pieces.

You should definitely reference the queue of Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railway as it provides further evidence for various Mickey products being canon such as Clubhouse for one.

Did the changes

"At least 8-B" Mickey on his Epic key (Via upscaling from his Classic version) seems plausible

Just for fun, I figured out where exactly Epic Mickey is in the timeline. It takes place in 1993. The Partners statue that is referenced in Wasteland wasn’t erected until 1993 and it seems to have been there for a bit. This is also before Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin was released in 1994 which is why OsTown, despite Mickey’s Toontown being released in 1993, contains no reference to it.

In the original game, Scar is on one of the stained glass windows in Dark Beauty Castle and The Lion King came out in 1994, but in Rebrushed, this was retconned, so our date of 1993 seems pretty solid. The Power of Two likely came out not long after. Maybe a year. And Power of Illusion seems to take a really long time after both considering Mizrabel needed at least a few years to become truly “forgotten”.

Power of Illusion is kind of… weird in terms of timeline stuff. When the Disney characters were trapped in the Castle of Illusion, they were mostly in the process of going through their stories all at the same time, so it’s very likely Mizrabel’s spell pulled them in at different points in time, which explains how Rapunzel and Tiana are able to appear. But we know it happens before 2001 where House of Mouse is set since Mickey hasn’t met the other Disney characters yet. Maybe it’s why Mickey is on such good terms with them in that show?

Just to get a good idea of where this happens, it’s someplace in-between the modern and 90s era. Definitively after 1993, but before 2001.

Would this technically make The Prince and the Pauper take place on the 90s Era? Given it likely happens a short amount of time before Epic Mickey
