Alucard can't really be put down by DIO at all, but Alucard is going to have a difficult time hitting DIO because of The World. I think the battle will ultimately come down to Alucard realizing his bullets can't hit DIO and using his telekinesis to grab him and rip him apart. Now, while he technically never did something like that in Hellsing, that doesn't mean he can't. He certainly didn't need to throw those men onto the flagpoles, but he showed he had plenty of percision and skill with it. He has been alive for over 500 years, it makes sense that he has used his telekinesis offensively at least once, possibly for fun.
