Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

To be completely blunt. Neither Reaper nor I convinced you of anything. You convinced yourself. I didn't present new evidence. You just didn't read and/or interpret old ones properly. Reaper did remind us of an interesting point, but they aren't new ideas and don't add anything extra that isn't already known.
I just said that I agreed with you, not that you directly convinced me.

I don't see how this Godly regen debacle is any different. Same evidence, Same arguments, just different reading comprehension and agendas. It will be repeat of our debate a while ago.
I've reread and searched, but I can't find anything about Low Godly in the scans.

Reforming an entire body from a non material form is text book definition of Low Godly, especially when they can use it in a combat applicable way(Sloth goes back to sand and reforms it body to teleport, for example), not sure what you're confused about here.
Because it is never said or shown that they reform/regenerate, we just see spirits taking on a physical form.

Actually, yes it is shown and said as that's the entire gimmick of Sloth's in DMC 3. Anyway, forming a body from non material form is sufficient for Low Godly regeneration, it doesn't matter whether or not it is destroyed beforehand or it simply didn't even exist in the first place, the distinction literally doesn't exist.

It's just transmutation?

How does that prove they could regenerate from any physical destruction? Giving low-level regeneration just because we see a soul take on a physical form is far-fetched imo.

How is that even transmutation? They don't transform anything into something else neither do they become the sand itself, they, while being just a consciousness, literally use sand to form their physical bodies that they possess which, as shown and said, they can form and reform at will.
How does that prove they could regenerate from any physical destruction? Giving low-level regeneration just because we see a soul take on a physical form is far-fetched imo.
Because they exist outside of the physical bodies we see and can form it, it's 2+2. How is forming a fresh body from consciousness alone any different from forming a body that's been destroyed? That's right, there's no distinction between the two, they're identical.

Buddy, Bill Chiper from Gravity Falls has low godly regen for gaining a physical body of flesh, when he had no such thing beforehand, along possessing bodies removing the owner soul out of it

How are demons in DMC whom are souls or spirits any different doing something similar? And Bill is a controversial character, if it wasnt regen they wouldnt accept this and same goes to DMC

You think staff are gonna accept for a verse like this something that wasnt true?

I don't think you have read the original thread but the whole point is.

Demons can't cross over here without a stable big enough portal so they only send their consciousness or soul. That soul or mind or whatever, as seen with the greed scan, can generate a physical body which counts as Low-Godly as seen here where several staff members tell Lord Gin Sama that he is wrong (and hence how we actually got Low Godly in the first place lol).

The devil arm process is its own can of worms and scales above this too so yeah.

you are wrong -insert the vine boom sound effect here- lol

edit: god I love the fact that this was an issue back then too and the argument got folded like a pretzel

I read the original thread and I understand better now, yeah, I agree.

Given how much of an asshole Lord Gin Sama was in this debate, it's a good thing the admins didn't accept his arguments. I've already debated with him once and he was unbearable.

To be fair with Gin, he is as much as an asshole as I am, the only problem is that once we get heated shit hits the fan which is bad for everyone but asides from that the guy is chill and willing to talk it out from what I remember. Kind of a prick sometimes but you either learn to not give a shit or hit him with the same energy and he chills down.

anyways, anyone thinks a sequel is coming? I hope not
5 was blatant sequel bait. In fact the act of bringing everyone together but leaving it open reminded me of Force Awakens, in the sense that it was more of a reunion special than a finale, and its quality would heavily depend on what came after. We still haven't seen Vergil truly redeem himself, nor has either he or Dante truly finished their character arc. The two of them teaming up and working to come to terms with each other is a transitional period, not a conclusion.

There is still a redemption arc for Vergil, an issue of the two of them overcoming their personal demons to rebuild the family, Vergil building a relationship with his son, and Dante and Vergil figuring out where they go from there. Lady still has a character arc to go through too. There's a bit of shipping going on in later titles too, which they might explore before truly retiring the twins, as well as the completion of their destruction of Mundus. The shipping also creates openings for new characters who might be born from that.

Ironically Nero has finished his character arc, which is kind of a mistake on the developers' part, since it's actually their story that is still only partly done.

Alternatively they might just do remakes, who knows.

Capcom confirmed they’re gonna do more DMC stuff today. Specifically, they are “looking to revitalize Megaman, Devil May Cry, Ace Attorney, and more with new projects.”

But we don’t know what or how or why that is.

It could be a sequel, could not.

I’m thinking they’re gonna test the waters with a DMC2 Remake. That seems to be their safest bet, since you literally can’t fumble remaking that game.

I mean, since they said they wanted to revitalize some IPs, among those DMC, I brought the topic.

Also, out of everyone Dante is the one who had his character arc complete like, he started as someone who only cares about himself and under pressure he became a hero following the footsteps of his father, saved the world, got the chick, found his nephew and even trained him and helped Nero be on his way as the new hero of the world.

Getting Vergil back and everything else is just a lot of bonuses for him.

I hope they start small, I don't want sequels or prequels if possible. Just make a novel or a manga and then I hope they make their way into adapting the novels as Games.

In all honesty, I'd be amazed if they made games out of the novels. The novels are more like DLC in terms of size.

I think you might underestimate how badly big companies can mess things up. I can think of at least a few things they could do to mess up a DMC2 remake.

"Enhanced Fate Manipulation (Unaffected by the demon dice and statue that manipulate the fate of everyone that enters inside the Game Room,[63][64] which is capable of binding even Demons, like Nero, who was forced to play the game to reach the Containment Room.)"

I haven't played DMC4 yet, I don't really know how this "Game Room" works and why it's considered Fate Manipulation. Could someone please explain?

You can check Gin's thread for that too.

This looks like resistance to Law Manipulation

Its a room where a dice is, the moment you enter or hit it you get some text and at the end it says it controls the fate of those who enter the room

Dante just says lol no and cuts the dice

@Tony_di_bugalu there seems to be a reference issue here.

@Tony_di_bugalu there seems to be a reference issue here.

Fixed.

Yeah someone at some point will have to go through the whole profile reading and categorizing references because some are as simple as DMC3 while others are actually detailed like "DMC3M09 -name of the mission-"

Brothers and sisters, we finished most threads. I think the last one is Hakim's thread which was a battleground so if yall can flock there to help or call staff so we can finish that one too
