Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

I must point out, they baited the audience in with Dante telling us the show was about him, then they treated him like garbage so Lady could be the protagonist.

Honestly, this show is just bad.
 
Someone should make a thread for the Netflix show. The series has some 9-A to 8-C+ stuff
(calced a few of them already, Lady tanking the helicopter exploding and the Kalina Ann's missile, weird that they are both Lady's feats wtf)
and a bajillion bullet feats that some might as well be Hypersonic
 
Yeah like what most of you claim Lady > Dante or other demons, but all i seen was her being outmatched physically in comparison to him amd relying on kryptonite for demons or gadgets to keep up, what show did you watch lol

This Dante is clearly an unexperienced young hunter that recently discovered his devil side and all that, you all expected him to just one shot everyone

It's not so simple. Take for example how Lady fishes and takes his amulet with harpoon Ep2. He reacts to it entire time, watching it going right to left but doesn't scramble at all to catch it. Gets blitzed and stunned by lightning bullets later by Lady. This is all despite being casually high end bullet timer and "crisis management and tactical expert" the show itself hypes up with it's Dante bio. Or take example when Dante can't break out of metal cuffs when he is doing greater strength feats throughout the show.
Everytime Lady is on screen, his IQ reaches single digits and he falls to human from superhuman. I can give more examples but Dante is completely flanderised.

Inexperienced Dante has been done before in the series. Phenomenally I might add. His Tony Redgrave persona is just that, the character get's his ass handed to him many times by believable circumstances, and he grows through those events quite literally.
Whatever Netflix did is like absolute disappointment by comparison.

These dont prove you and some of you claiming Lady > Dante regardless, Cavaliere was an issue for Lady to take on 1v1, Dante at least can go toe to toe with him, Mutated Rabbit floors with her when he gets a hit on her, Dante only gets staggered for a little while and continues fighting it

Instances like struggling to break 9f cuffs and all that is literally no different then any show or verse having some inconsistencies here and there, as far as we seen Dante fodderizes common joe demons and bounty hunters, meanwhile the better of the two sides clearly hold up better to Dante given what he was dealing with before any events in the series

West vs east ways of handling a character getting beat by others, you compare netflix version too much to his canon self, when clearly former is meant to be somewhat similar in some regards yet doing its own thing
 
I can understand the hate or dislike, cuz i didnt like some stuff either, but the way they voice it is ridiculously doom posting

Honestly that and the music choice there, curious though how they go about the set up for a sequel from there

Arius and his corp from DMC2, along Vergil showing up gonna be the big thing going there, especially if Dante stays frozen there, unless Lady decides to free him eventually

It's more of that, the whole one shot thing is what Dante tends to do and not Lady.

I believe in this verse he has a few years under his belt (3 years), if I remember the slides about his power set.
DMC 3 manga/game Dante fodderised enemies quite a bit in his encounters, despite his newer service.

I didn't like how many times Lady got the drop on him when it came to him getting shot, DMC 3 did it best when Dante got shot in the head by her, he was in control and it felt like he only got hit because he allowed it, had a funny quip about it and showed seconds later that it was ineffective to him when he caught the next round with his teeth.

Fire unit and from the looks of it he will use the same weapon set as Trish. Honestly excited to actually play since AO Vergil.

New Dante is out and holy ******* hell it's actually broken. May be the strongest unit in the whole game, also the new story mode (which obviously will end with the Vergil fight) will be interesting.
 
Good day everyone. I want to have an insight to the possibility of a potential match up between DMC3 dante vs Shutara Senjumaru from bleach. Would shutara be able to resist any passive hax from dante and go straight to the fight or there is no need? Please I need an insight from experts on the dante's demon Physiology

Hey! I'm sorry but the match isn't fair. I know Bleach very well but like... Take a look at the low tier Demon's passives that Dante has via UES.

I just did, the only thing relevant there is his time manipulation which could prove to be a win con but arguments could made to counter that. But the rest can be resisted or are not relevant against her powers but I am not the expert here so there might be something I am missing.

Is this trying to say that as long as characters are able to survive an attack long enough they can evolve or potentially transform into more powerful forms to gain resistance to it?
