Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

V tells Nero to get stronger when told to get out from Urizen place, there aint any other indication?
stronger sure, strong enough to surpass large majority of god tier without any tangible reason? Definitely not. At best you can assume he surpassed his past self. It's questionable if he is stronger than even Nightmare.

There is he got so stronger that he himself don't believe that Devil Sword Sparda is worth of his time and energy to look for it, which puts him a Mundus level or above it

He can also easely beat Malphas who is on Nightmare's level or above it,

So, yeah Nero is defenely that stronger when you think a bit

Nero does a single feat that is literally infinite times higher than most other feats. That's pretty much an outlier.

Even if we ignore that, Nero with the devil breakers is stated to be as strong as he was during DMC 4 (or that he got back his lost strength), not that he is stronger than before.

There is zero mental gymnastics that can make Nero hurting Urizen as a valid way to scale him to the God tiers

Urizen was toying with Nero, a pity fight. He just got annoyed when he was scratched that got him to get up and bully you. The fact that the player is scripted to lose both phases of fight says a lot. I doubt he even had his shield up while fighting and was holding back to bully Nero.
I'm not saying the opposite, but Nero was still able to physically scratch him when he couldn't before, nor even Dante.

I mean, that explanation was not for it being an outlier but rather about how saying Nero did better than Dante is absurd in of itself.
We don't even know if Nero got stronger in during that one month period(at least I don't remember any statements about that), such a significant power boost would need some explanation which for Nero it doesn't really have(yeah, he was stated to be training iirc but that's too much of a tier jump to excuse this) , especially considering Urizen not only has AD from his Sparda Inheritence too but was actively supplied with blood during that one month, getting even more powerful, which makes this even more iffy.
I don't think it's absurd. We already know that Dante and Vergil had more potential than Sparda and that they ended up surpassing him. So I don't find it inconsistent that Nero has more potential than Dante and Vergil and can surpass them even more easily than the latter could with Sparda.

I checked and Nero trained after his first confrontation with Urizen (V told him to come back later when he gets stronger).

So that would mean that between DMC4 and DMC5 Nero never upgraded in force despite the AD of the Sparda inheritance? It makes even less sense.

Potential has nothing to do with this, the problem is that such a tier jump is completely unreasonable as we have literally zero explanation or even any indication he got THAT much stronger in just 1 month when Urizen was getting stronger by just sitting on his toilet too, training doesn't excuse literally an infinite gap of power

Jokes aside, PGR is a fast paced action gacha game. Pretty much the best gacha to do an actual high quality DMC collab, though I am personally more interested in what the collab story will bring.

I was thinking of downloading PGR solely because of this collab, I did play it for a bit like a year ago or so and it seemed pretty good

My gameplay of PGR back in the days:

Gameplay is pretty fire actually. Although, it do become kind of a button mashing with those random inputs showing on below but it's pretty satisfying either way.

My comment was to the "Tier 1" stuff... But I was also never going to play this, I hate the concepts of Gachas

I mean the tier 1 stuff was a joke, I don't think it's possible for DMC to get any scaling buffs from PGR because it's a collab. Hating gacha's is fair tho

I never said that, I said that Nero with the devil breakers is just as strong as he was before (the quote in question was referencing his DMC4 self iirc).

Now, even with AD taken into account there is literally 0 proof of Nero being on Urizen's level or Dante's. You are literally arguing that Nero somehow makes it from 4A to literally the peak of the God Tiers by doing nothing.

I want this Alpha, but I do have the crimson one. I need way to farm the currency, i play to infrequently and it's painful to not spend on so many good characters because i am saving for the collab.

Scratching doesn't mean much, it's not like they are Superman. Scratching is not grounds for scaling.

His AD is potent, but not that potent. He cannot jump layers upon layers of infinity of power gap without any reason. It triviliases the character development and power development he experiences at end of the game.
I can actually give a reasonable headcanon for his explosive burst of strength for valid scaling but it will still be headcanon.

Bro I am utterly shocked how much they nailed the combat and how you can legit do combos that exist in DMC 5, it's insane

Except this child might be the realist since Nero fr

Also a little criticism but Vergil's voice kinda felt off in the emotes section imo.

It's not a problem but it is weird how it came out as. Guess Dan is losing his touch slowly.
Yeah I did also feel that, specifically when reading V's book. Maybe it's cuz of the somewhat forced joke ig?
