Even if it was not, for some reason, added I don't see why they couldn't be implemented and asked to be used for new pages.

It taking a long time for each page to be updated shouldn't be the biggest reason for it to not be implemented

Considering how much time it takes to open up a new tab and then adding a category, not to mention the hundreds of profiles that are locked, it would take months.

The biggest reason is that it's not worth it. We've taken on long projects before (though this would be by far the longest), but there's no point to this. You can easily figure out a way to do much more precise searches than either our categories or Wikia's own search system allows using Google.

Rather than suggest revisions that will take much more time and effort than you expect, why don't you spend the 10 seconds needed to learn how to search better than the tier categories would allow anyways?

Those usually involved a few hundred pages at most and even then they took awhile. it's a massive difference. There's also the issues of so many pages being locked and all staff so far not exactly liking this.

Tiering categories names:

Basically this, this even has the description each one of those categories would have.

For example, the name of a tag for a High 4-C character would be "Tier High 4-C" and the description would go like "Large Star level: Characters who can create/destroy a large star."

Yes. It's a waste of time. This wiki isn't even a versus debating wiki. It's a statistics indexing wiki. So making it easier for people to make matches is a pretty low priority.

And again, you can just use Google, which would be more precise anyways.

This search will get you every character on the wiki that's Planet level and has Fate Manipulation. You can make it even more precise if you want.

Not to mention this leaves us in a vulnerable state, seeing as how a lot of famous pages are gonna be unlocked, and how most admins are stressed out enough already.

Well, unlike the actual profile which is often locked, the categories section is separately lockable, so this is more safer to edit than most other things, after all, it´s rare to find someone playing with the tags anyways.

There are locked profiles with tags addable? If not, and if what you say is true, it doesn't change the fact that admins would still need to unlock the tags.

I strongly agree with Saikou, Promestein, SomebodyData and Dargoo Faust.

This is a thoroughly horrible and unreasonable idea. It is completely unfeasible to achieve with over 16000 pages, would not give almost any payoff, and require us to constantly update the categories afterwards whenever there are any statistics changes whatsoever.

All of this for the sake of making matchups a bit easier to find, even though that isn't even what this wiki is focused on. They are just there for entertainment, not because we think that they are important.

This suggestion is extremely rejected, and I would appreciate if you do not bring it up again. I will close his thread now.
