pochita was in denji’s hybrid form and was just as weakened by the public’s support as denji was. denji should scale. makima didn’t know it was pochita and still stated that he was visibly weaker.

Denji (Chainsaw Man) Rework

If a snake bites your hand and you cut it off to prevent the poison from spreading, do you have poison resistance?
She assumed it was Pochita (correctly) and said he was feebler. She then thinks it Denji when he starts speaking, because in her mind Chainsaw Man doesn't speak.
But anyways, even weakened Pochita one-shot every single Hybrid that was >= Denji, so he has no reason to scale to Denji. Only Bow Devil Quanxi could block a hit from him.

Despite this I do think Denji should scale to At least City-Block level+ due to his fear boost, his Post Weakening key was already leagues above the Bat Devil and now he should be far stronger than before and even comparable to Graveyard Pochita (I don't see a reason why he wouldn't just outright scale superior to the total AP of the Bat Devil)

pochita starts speaking before they even fight, then later as he is fighting the hybrids makima states that he is clearly weaker than before
they were >= to denji earlier on in the story, denji would presumably grow in power as he killed more devils and their fear of him increased

Nope.
Quanxi is just outright superior to Denji, but hybrids such as spear man were able to harm Graveyard Pochita in combat and you can argue that the others would have been able to as well which supports the idea of Post-Fear Boost Denji scaling to it

Spear Man also impaled Black Chainsaw Man, so his spear is just way stronger than his physicals.
Even if this did happen, Chainsaw Man still recieved a massive loss of fear due to Makima.
Denji simply can't scale to Pochita just because they look similar. There is nothing concrete that lets them scale.

The squid guy could fight Quanxi iirc. He shouldn't be far above Denji or Power in speed

Pochita did seem threatened when he was about to get intercepted by Whip and Bomb, even if that argument doesn't work I think Post-Fear Boost Denji should still scale due to the above

Quanxi blitzed Power and Denji in base so they couldn't scale, she also blitzed Hybrids, although they could barely keep up with Denji but I don't think its enough Justification for Denji to scale to Yoshida or Quanxi

Not enough justification to scale Denji to it though especially when this is his Post-Weakening Key, If we say Denji at the time is comparable to Graveyard Pochita that would bump his Post-Weakening key to Hypersonic and City-Block level+ while his previous key (before he was depowered) was Large Building level+ and Supersonic+ speeds which is an outlier (Regarding the fact that he is weaker than before).
It would make more sense arguing for his Post-Fear Boost key which would make more sense as he is significantly stronger than before that including his Post-Training key
Pre-Training key: At most Large Building level+ (His beginnings as CSM)
Post-Training key: At least Large Building level+ (Stronger than before)
Post-Weakening key: At most Large Building level+ (Weaker than before and only still scales to the Bat Devil's feat due to defeating someone superior to him)
Post-Fear Boost key: At least Large Building level+ or At least City Block level+ (He should be far superior to the Bat Devil's total AP after the fear boost)
This would be the most logical scaling in my eyes

its just super cluttered lol, especially with denji’s 9-A human form stat remaining stagnant between the keys and being repeated over and over
dentist could probably just have two keys, one for human form which remains consistent in strength over the course of the series, and one for chainsaw hybrid form where hes like variable from 8-C to high 8-C depending on fear

also why doesnt dentist scale to graveyard csm clone when its just a removed portion of him… and stated to be weaker than before by makable when she thought he was denji instead of pochit …… seems unreal

He gets stronger for the Post-Training key, him getting hit with the rocket launcher should be higher into 9-A, the only Key where things remain the same is Post-Fear Boost where we will place the upcoming feats
Note: And remember its important to have the Small Building level in every key since Denji doesn't start off transformed he chooses if he wants to

you’d have to calc that first, and it seems consistent enough with denji’s other base feats that it probably does not warrant creating three additional keys and cluttering up the profile
there is no reason to assume that denji’s training with kishibe increased his physical strength in base form. kishibe’s training focused mainly on denji’s skill and reactions
this applies to like any anime transformation ever, just because dennis has the ability to willingly transform doesnt mean his base form needs to be included in every key lol

Well yeah, Denji starts off in base and lets say we use his post weakening key, and we place him against another High 8-C character, hes going to be more inclined to transform based on the threat his opponent seems to him, so I think the base key is relevant at least

Getting stronger doesn't matter if the tier doesn't change. And he doesn't change in terms of tons in 9-A. I'm not saying get rid of the 9-A either. He's 9-A not transformed always, why state that three times?

it totally is…the tier section alone is super convoluted to read, and the tabbers on most of the stats are just kind of annoying when it could all be in just one or two keys
looking at the feat again, it’s honestly probably above 9-A
that being said denji shows no signs of being conscious or even alive after getting blown up until pochita takes over his body
he doesn’t necessarily mean that his attack potency or lifting strength increased, he’s just saying that he’s a better fighter now lol
you literally just gave an example where his base form is totally irrelevant as he would immediately transform anyways

He gets up(not showing any signs of being harmed by it) and before transforming he defeats(off screen) part of the anti makima squad so it should apply to his base form imo

technically it wasn’t denji who fought makima, it was a chainsaw man clone which denji created by removing a piece of his chainsaw heart
i do think denji should scale to the clone though. it’s made from a smaller part of him (the part that empowers his transformation no less), it’s using denji’s hybrid form, makima thought the clone was denji and stated that it was weaker than his previous showings, and hybrid denji should probably scale to power’s blood weapons as well (ie the blood chainsaw)

i’m not seeing any of that. there’s only one shot of denji before pochita takes over, and it’s just him stumped against a wall next to makima. that being said, the website i use to read csm seems to be missing a couple pages. could you link scans?

This wouldn't work because Post-Training Denji is At least High 8C+ then he is Building level in his post weakening key then he is at least High 8C+ again in his post fear boost key which will be higher with up coming feats

denji’s hybrid form has a variable tier anyways. it would be far more simple and clean to just say that his power varies from 8-C to high 8-C in hybrid form.

ah, doesn’t seem like i missed anything then. yeah, denji is completely motionless and doesn’t get up until his body is jolted by pochita taking over. it would make sense for him to lay there slumped if he was unharmed, but the idea that he was unharmed doesn’t make any sense in the first place since the same attack visibly harmed makima
