Deltarune: Chapter 5 (SPOILER!!) Discussion Thread

It's definitely really weird, like still why does Ralsei say the 999 thing?
Main point is that no one should scale to fake stats Flowery, he nearly instantly defeated the Knight, no way the Spawn that the LV4 gang can kill is above that.
Ralsei says the 999 thing because his HP is 999, regardless it'd be weird for him to say "You can't give yourself either 99 or 999 in everything!"

the Spawn's durability is far above it's AP (AT 30 DF 200) and the damage done to it without the BlackShard is minor. I guess that's still a fair point though.

I would like to point out that it is, objectively, easier to kill than Jevil. It doesn't take reduced damage and only has 3000 HP. Jevil has 3500 HP and does take reduced damage. For a regular enemy, the Titan Spawn is strong, but it's no harder to kill than almost any boss.

When someone has 99 in 90% of their stats, it would make way more sense to just say 99 instead of the singular 999 stat.
Also again, "maximum stats" very much does imply that it's well, ya know, the max?

Yeah and taking into account CH4's increased stats, you can take it out in what, 3 Turns?

I mean, it very much has space to show stats above 99

We even have examples of this:

As to why the Ralsei line is that, I don't think it makes sense for him to say "You can't just give yourself either 99 or 999 in everything!"
He can have a spell that costs 111%, 222%, and 333% TP, even though the apparent “maximum” is only 100%. So I think there's a reasonable argument that Flowery could exceed the game's displayed maximum stats as well. Otherwise, Ralsei's statement doesn't really make much sense. Why would 999 only be referring to his HP if we've already seen that game limits can be surpassed?

I think it's best to assume, what Flowery think as “max” it's referring to his own perception of maximum. Not what the game shown. And no wonder why we always see Flowery with “max” TP and it doesn't seem to reduce even if he uses his attack, so I guess it's just... maximum beyond what the game shown.
