DCU General Discussion Thread

Is it confirmed canon though?
No idea but if it is then we've got some solid LS and AP feats to work with, if not then its just at least enough for a spin-off profile for the short itself

James Gunn and Peter Safran on the Krypto shorts:

“We’ve got these cool little Krypto shorts that are so fun, man. I’ve been watching all of them,” said Gunn. “He’s a terrible, terrible dog. It’s for families and it’s just really fun and goofy. It’s pretty cool.”

“It’s definitely the Krypto you fall in love with in Superman. He’s a terrible dog,” joked Safran.

The shorts do say to see more of krypto in Superman (2025) so like maybe it is valid🤷‍♂️

The Peacemaker podcast just went over episode eight of Season 1, so now we know everything that isn’t canon from Season 1:
  • The mentions of Aquaman, as he’s probably not a well-known hero in the DCU by the time of Superman and Peacemaker S2.
  • The mentions of Bat-Mite, as James Gunn isn’t sure if Bat-Mite is real or not in the DCU.
  • Clemson Murn might have a different face in the DCU, in case they want to cast Chukwudi Iwuji as someone else.
  • The mentions of Wonder Woman and Flash, as they may not be active and prominent heroes yet.
  • The mention of Green Arrow, James Gunn said it’s a “maybe” on if he’s around yet.
  • The appearance of the Justice League, because they don’t exist yet.
Anything not in this list can be considered fully canon to the DCU, and for our purposes on this site, can be scaled to normally.

So since Gunn said there will be canon DCU games. What character do you want to see a game for ? Well we are getting Batman by Rocksteady again. Unknown if it's Arkham Universe, remake of Asylum or something else differently.

I want a superman game but a Superman game can't be made without a major event so it has to be alt reality. Also DCU Superman hasn't seen much action has he. He hasn't met any of his big villains considering the movie is where he first time lost.

The best bet is Wonder Woman. A witcher style game for her set back in the past.

I want a Green Lantern game where I can play as Hal Jordan in his prime.
That would be an Endeavour to make. A satisfying GL game would need a pretty Vast moveset to convey the flexibility of constructs.

Honestly I don't even have any example. The closest is Dragon ball z kakarot if you replaced all energy attacks with constructs.

But the potential is immense.

WW, Aquaman and GL are the most game worthy characters in JL. And Shazam. A more obvious skill tree has never existed. Technically Cyborg too. Huh

Seeing a DC show on Star india is jarring since Disney holds 38% of Viacom 18

Early stages. If people make enough noise we maybe able to influence it. I am a bit scared here. WB has a broomstick shoved up their ass when it comes to games. Hogwarts Legacy made more than a billion while SSKTJL flopped face first. But they still push for live service because want to own the next fortnite (which makes no sense as there can't be a next fornite because fornite is still there and it's player base has no reason to swtich) I know the 40 billion looks enticing.

They also shut down a lot of their studios.

Edit - It seems its going to be live service. Why.
