DBZ: Possible Namek Saga Speed Upgrade?

Goku on Namek was stated by Vegeta to be moving so fast the scouters couldn't pick him up, which is impressive because Raditz transmitted data about his death to Nappa and Vegeta nigh-instantly over deep space.


It would take Nappa and Vegeta 1 year to reach earth, while it would take Earth's fastest technology 4339 years and 3 months to reach Namek, and it would take Goku's ship 6 days to reach Namek, which operates on the same Saiyan technology.


Vegeta after his zenkai from Recoome most likely replicates this feat next, since he blitzed and destroyed most of the Ginyu force, and could destroy Ginyu using Goku's body, as well as being able to challenge first form Frieza.

Goku even appears to have completely vanished to everyone on the battlefield, and he isn't registered on the scouters until seconds later.

Using a timer to find it took about 4.75 seconds in the anime to reach Jupiter (which is roughly 4.7106 AU away), Kami's ship travels at

498.065c. Assuming that's constant velocity, that puts Namek at 46.3689 light years away, given it takes Bulma 34 days.
Goku's ship takes 6 days (5.666 times faster than Bulma's ship), so assuming I did it right, Goku's ship would reach Jupiter in 0.838 seconds, and is 2823.16c. Namek would be 46.37561 light years away.

Since Goku's ship is = a saiyan pod in speed (they both operate on the same parts, Nappa and Vegeta would've been 2821.5 light years away (hence "deep space"), though idk if what I did was correct/calc stacking or both.

I already used this pictures in the past to justify a speed upgrade for Dragon Ball and they were rejected since they are not reasonable (Like the Frieza and the two ship ones, the third happened only in the anime which is non-canon) and currently or later the speeds will be downgraded by this reason.

From what I found from those links, those were based on Ginyu's ships arriving on Namek, when the series provides 0 information about their travels, then trying to scale it to something completely different. I don't think this is the same, plus the series provides actual information to go off of.

There are no canon evidence in the manga that Frieza lasers are FTL and the databooks are not accepted since they were not made or considered by the creator of the series. Super Saiyan Goku faster than his own ship is only an anime thing [It is not present in the manga] and scales to the non-canon continuity [This why Cooler is Massively FTL+ in higher forms].

I know, and at best Piccolo states Frieza's beams are flashes of light, my post however is about scouter transmission speed, and how it's related to the speed of the characters.

I don't think we should scale the speeds to statements about the scouters since all them broke when a character rises his power and i think it took a some little time for Raditz information to fully reach them.

But besides them physically breaking, they're always shown fully functional. And Raditz was able to transmit the information about the dragon balls directly after Piccolo told him about it, and before he told Piccolo he had transmitted that information, so somehow the information is traveling extremely fast. Even the scan that shows Nappa receiving the information says "meanwhile in deep space" meaning he was pretty much getting real-time results.

I think the scouters are good at receiving informations rather than keep track of the opponent speed. The speed of informations is not the same as the speed of a character.

Receiving information about an opponent's position as well as information about their power level is still receiving info. If Goku moves too fast for the machine to process the info, then technically speaking he's faster than the data transmission speed as well as the processor speed.

The data transmission speed is not the same thing as the normal speed. I think it's a case of this scouter can gain informations from another scouter away from other for Massively FTL+ data speed, but struggles to track an opponent going at Hypersonic speeds. Lastly a Canon Namek Saga Massively FTL to Massively FTL+ Goku is outlier.

But there's nothing that either supports or rejects the idea of scouters having different kinds of speeds, just that it works the way its shown to work. As for an outlier thats ehhhhhhh. Vegeta went from getting bodied by Recoome (and destroying Guldo) to being able to slaughter the entire Ginyu Force and challenge 1st form Frieza from one Zenkai. Goku was giving himself zenkai freebies. Then there's the fact that King Kai was able to track the Saiyans' progress towards Earth, yet couldn't track the Goku/Frieza fight.
