What it does is send you to a reality of Darkseid making and forces you live out your whole life in tragedy and die, then ressurect in a new reality live in immesurable tradegy and die. Over and over. An infinite amount of times. Each time is more painful, tragic and worse. Literally this whole comic is Shilo Norman trapped in the Omega Sanction and he breaks free by negotiating with the embodiment of The Omega Sanction.

Darkseid very nearly used it on Batman in Final Crisis too.

I'm not familiar with DC that much, but has there been any pseudo-reboots like Crisis/Flashpoint that resulted in different versions of Darkseid? If so, are all these powers for the current Darkseid or for another version of him?

Unless he has stayed the same since those events.

From what I can recall, he and his avatars haven't changed any. All of the "reboots" like COIE and the Flashpoint event only affect the main DC multiverse, not the higher planes like the one Darkseid's true self resides in.

The only change has revolved around his avatars getting weaker, and that's only the case because Superma keeps getting weaker and Darkseid's avatars tend to get their ratings via scaling to him. Other than that, his powers haven't taken a hit.

The old ones are early post crisis. Darkseid's true self is immune to retcons so his abilities are unaffected like King said.

Darkseid should have some degree of a Healing Factor if not mentioned already for regrowing his eyes in Post Flashpoint after being blinded

1) The other character was empowered by the Omega Effect due to Darkseid's death, the same power that empowers Darkseid. It makes sense in this case
