Could be a complete and utterly stupid idea. Giorno vs Gruntilda

GER can't really do anything here. Gruntilda's durability is too high, and she has numerous types of immortality so it can't kill her via forcing her to age.

That said, Gruntilda can't really do anything either since GER is going to be resetting her over her.

Also, Gruntilda's explanation for Plot Manipulation seems more like 4th Wall Manipulation. Even then I doubt it'd be in character for her to attempt to erase Giorno.

Well if you want to go by semantics then Gruntilda has a point. He won't reach true JoJo status because he isn't even a JoJo to begin with.

Banjo-Kazooie treats the fourth wall like paper mache anyway. The plot manip is more than just awareness; it has an effect so it's legit.

Still, can't GER make it so Grunty can't do anything?

Giorno doesn't need to reach JoJo status; he's transcended it. Gruntilda's statement is true, but telling a man he'll never be a monkey isn't exactly a roast.

Much like how a gamer is the apotheosis of human evolution and is thus in a class of their own, Giorno is the apotheosis of Joestars and is thus his own separate thing. He doesn't need to conform to the petty values of the JoJo bloodline, he developed phenomenal social skills and a moral compass by age 15 despite being abused so much that his brain forgot how to cry, he never needed the Speedwagon Foundation to help him out with anything, and he has the most powerful canon stand in all of JoJo.

He doesn't need to meet any of the criteria for being a JoJo, because he's already done everything that most JoJos can't.

I didn't take it that you were making fun of Giorno.

I don't actually think Giorno is objectively the best JoJo, as I've yet to read all of the parts. I was merely exaggerating because he's my favorite. I feel that I made that clear enough when I said comparing Giorno to other JoJos is like comparing a man to a monkey.

So is this thread gonna go anywhere? It just kinda awkwardly stopped when Numbers got defensive over his trash giogio. I would actually like to see where the plot manipulation for Gruntilda goes from here. If it can do anything for her in this match that is.

Wait does that mean she can bypass GER here? If that's the case what's stopping her to erasing Giorno? I mean sure it's not in character, but wouldn't she at least resort to it sometime later down the road?

That is much more different that I imagined, I will wait for further input before I change my vote.

Sorry after looking at your profile, it seems English isn't your best language, so to approach you like that seemed to be a bit rude in hindsight.

@Elizahaa

GER's Transmutation only works on inanimate objects, and its Death Manipulation requires GER to kill the opponent first. GER doesn't just point at you and go "frick you, you're a rock now" or "frick you, now you're dead".

@GyroNutz

GER's power does affect souls; the Requiem arrow that gave Giorno GER is stated to give the user the power to "dominate souls" or something like that, if I recall correctly.

I'd like to point out that GER has no way to kill Gruntilda here. GER is casually above 1 ton of TNT because it broke King Crimson's hand and took down part of a building by flicking a rock, but Gruntilda's durability comes from a 7 ton feat that she took without a scratch.

Gruntilda's only way of killing Giorno is via Plot Manipulation, which I doubt she'll just open up with. If she tries anything else, GER's Causality Manipulation will be activated and it will be a stalemate.

@ArbitraryNumbers, your explanations were informative.

Also, Gruntilda has no resistance to Soul Manipulation listed on profile so it possible for Giorno to win via Soul Manipulation.

She should have resistance to soul manipulation actually. If you don't want to count it it's fine, but the evidence for it exists.

Giorno's Soul Manipulation isn't a "frick you, you don't have a soul anymore" ability either.

It just means that the Causality Manipulation affects souls just like anything else.

Then, a Content Revision Thread should be needed for the addition, GyroNutz.

Causality Manipulation should likely affect anyone anyway, resistance to Soul Manipulation or not, unless Gruntilda has displayed a resistance to Causality Manipulation.

I do believe stand abilities give him Non-Physical Interaction so I do believe most of his abilities would affect intangible characters like souls or ghosts.
