I'm inclined to agree with them. Like, if Bleach characters were pitted against characters from other versus who are spiritually inclined and can see ghosts/spirits, then I feel the passives, aside from those of the top tiers like Aizen, wouldn't do much.

Well, you don't care because you're in this community and, I'm guessing here, you probably don't take place in versus debates with people from outside of this community.
Like, get into a call on discord and try to argue why SS arc Ichigo will Soul Crush MUI Goku. Even using our reasoning and linking our profiles and everything isn't really sufficient in most cases.
As someone who takes place in these things outside of the community, and even irl sometimes, making an argument is a lot more difficult than reading profiles and seeing who has the most "unstoppable" power.

If we think about it, even how we consider the potency of soul manipulation is pretty arbitrary. That's necessarily the case, because souls aren't real in an observable sense, so someone in an argument can just flat out reject the concept of "layers" altogether and judge the strength of souls by how spiritually enlightened someone is.
