I was also looking at that list of trees a few minutes ago (im guessing you also googled "world's deadliest trees") and if you combine a few the notable features of these trees, what you could end up with is a redwood sized tree that drops 40 pound exploding fruit with highly poisonous shrapnel

Yes they would, unless no human has seen a deadly tree before. This thread kinda disproved that in itself. They would know what it is as they have knowledge of every tree imaginable. They would be able to tell what this is.

If the smoke comes into contact with skin, I haven't found any tree that would have this be fatal, but it'd really make CH wish that they hadnt lol
