Cole MacGrath vs an actual Care Bear

Iirc, inFamous 1 Cole doesn't have power null resistance. He could still be effected by Sasha's power dulling tar

It's not exactly a conventional, physical projectile. The Care Bears wiki describes it as similar to a ray of light which is supported by the fact that it, though somewhat inconsistently, has been reflected by mirrors in some instances.

We'll Cole's shields and shockwaves are also effective pure energy attacks such ass Kessler's lightning beams, Sasha's energy bullets and blasts, and the Ice Men's ice beams, so it's not like Cole can't handle pure energy attacks.

I mean light is technically a form of energy

Even then, Cole has shown to have electromagnetic abilities, and the shield he uses is called Polarity Wall, so is could maybe still mass with light via magnet shenanigans.

If not, there's also the tried and true Piccolo method:

DODGE!

I think he meant it as a ray of light

Which, might be worth making a CRT for that, especially if someone reacts to it.

If you trust Wikipedia

Somewhere, somewhen, a teacher just felt a disturbance in the force.

I mean, I'll take your word for it, but does it mean it can't be blocked? And if not, does it always have the same power nulling effect, or just the "make you all warm and fuzzy inside" effect? Asking cause I've never watched Care Bears

Look I have no idea what it is to be honest with you. Sometimes it can be reflected by mirrors, sometimes it can't be, it's not the most consistent or delved-into thing in fiction.

The effect it has depends on what the user wants but also what the target is normally. Say a human gets corrupted by one of the villains, for example. If said human gets hit by the CBS, it'll nullify the corruption. Say a human is just particularly angry and not due to some supernatural/superhuman means, then getting hit with the CBS will make them happy. One of the main villains has the ability to shapeshift, but often when he gets hit by the CBS it will turn him back into his base form.

So it's kinda up in the air whether or not Cole can actually block it with his polarity shield.

Okay so it really just depends on what the care bear in question is aiming to do. What is the likelyhood that they'll open up with a nullifying beam?

Also contrary to what the story would imply, Tenderheart doesn't have prior knowledge, so the effect it has would be determined by what's making Cole want to harm people. Is it just because he's inherently angry? Then the CBS would likely inflict empathic manip. Is he being corrupted by something? Then it would nullify whatever's corrupting him. They never go into a fight with the intention of harming the opponent unless they're just always inherently evil like No Heart, so it's more likely the CBS will either pacify him or nullify him, depending on the cause of his violent behavior.

Empathetic Manip won't work for the reasons I gave so if it's that, then Cole should be fine

Of course, I don't understand much about Evil Cole's character as I usually don't play him and from what I recall he literally stole food for himself in the beginning, so IDK

Cole's a power-hungry ****** who thinks that "the strong can do what they want and the weak are their slaves" (direct quote). As such, he tries to get more power so no one will hurt him or his friends again "I'm just trying to do what's best for us."

"The memory of Trish's body flashes through my mind. I'm going to make sure something like that never happens again."

"The world's changing Zeke, one wrong move could get you killed."

And on and on. The more afraid people are of him, the less likely they'll go after those close to him. It doesn't hurt that at this point he genuinely enjoys killing things.

Yeah Evil Cole pretty much starts off a guy looking out for his own interests and friends, then he starts tearing the city apart so he can get the Ray Sphere and clear his name/get out of Empire City. Along he way though, his lust for more power leads to him becoming more and more selfish/destructive.

He lashes out at citizens because he feels like they've betrayed him after he got framed. It starts off as him not really caring about their well being to actively targeting them.

He starts off neutral like Good Cole, but somewhere along the way, he lost sight of his goal and became evil.

Iirc, Conduit powers can "corrupt" people into acting crazy as we saw with Sasha, Bertrand and the Vermaak 88, but Evil Cole, in both iterations, has shown that he is in control of his own actions.

Can he when he's so much slower?

Even then the projectile just changes direction again. This thing made its way to an enemy in a hedge maze, where there's a twist, turn, wall, etc in every direction after all.

True

Then again, I kinda noticed that the bear can't actually move while shooting its beam. Cole can fire a Lightning Blast to counter it.

The first one is them falling while using it and the second seems to be then uncontrollably bouncing while using it

In other words they weren't really moving of their own volition while using it

Anyway, I made notes of every time they've used the CBS in the series I watched, so I'll look through those when it's not late at night.

Still, he at the very least can fire off homing attacks and move around while those are doing their thing.

No it proves they can use it while falling down or bouncing which is not the same as actively trying to move while using it
