Well, that was fun while it lasted.

Being serious though, as far as standard equipment goes, getting weapons isn't really an issue thanks to GTA being...well, GTA.

  • He canonically owns a jetpack. So he could easily just fly to a location in the city if he needs to.
  • AmmuNation canonically sells explosives. (there are radio advertisements for missiles, flamethrowers and grenades IIRC) And money isn't an issue, as he's the manager of a million-dollar hip-hop artist and the leader of a high-functioning gang, both in-story.
  • He's backed by the San Andreas Triads, and it's part of their thing to deal in weapons.
  • Emmet sells molotovs, I believe. They're some of the cheapest attempts at weapons you'll ever run into, and Emmet has a reputation for selling cheap, shitty weaponry.
  • Plane graveyard gives him access to the attack helicopter that's parked there.
Even if he doesn't start off carrying explosives...He's fighting a tree. There's nothing stopping him from taking his jetpack, flying to the nearest arms dealership (or military depot if he doesn't feel like spending his money) and then coming back before the BFR time limit is up.

(Also, the GTA profiles actually are kind of ridiculous, but I wanted to entertain myself here. lol)

Batman canonically owns a Batmobile but no one argues "Batman wins because Batmobile" in a thread that doesn't mention him having it nearby. Does he canonically have the jetpack with him at all times? Cutscenes, mentions, anything?

Ammunation, he has to get there first, which means he's running outside of the stage for battle, unless it's inside said stage. And considering this is standard assumption, means that he's fighting a tree with enough of itself to span the size of a park, inside a park. Where is the Ammunation in relation to Central Park?

Location: Central Park, New York City.
San Andreas Triads is not part of his standard equipment.

Emmet is not standard equipment.

Planet Graveyard, he needs to get there first, same with Ammunation.

Lastly, does the GTA protagonists canonically pull weapons out of their behind like Naruto characters do?

And if we go by the last point, that means no videogame character in history with an "Inventory" of any kind is allowed to have all of their weapons/items at once unless there's some in-canon explanation for them carrying so much. (Which, let's be real, most of them don't.)

Iirc, Dante has some magic for that.

Donte's weapons morph.

That's how it should be.

That's ridiculous. Why would we restrict everything (or even 'almost everything') a character has just because there isn't some minor detail explaining why they have it all?

A number of characters who use multiple items in an inventory don't even have cutscenes in their games.

I'm not arguing for the x number of other profiles that did this since I don't know which ones those are among the thousand or so profiles in VSB.

Canonicity is a thing. GTA is a setting with literally zero powers (unless I missed something), so how would they even have a pocket dimension to store items in?

Giving them the power to pull weapons out of their ass is even more ridiculous. No one argues Thor having Megingjard and Jangreipr to boost his physicals just because he has something like that, because he doesn't have it with him. As is with Arturia Pendragon stuffing people with her lance when she's summoned as a Saber. And these people have magic on their side.

Don't characters like Lara Croft, Nathan Drake, Frank West, (non-powered) Johnny Gat, Chris Redfield, etc. exist in settings where such a "pocket dimension" shouldn't normally be present? What makes this any different?

Besides, GTA is a series where a normal gang member in the ghetto eventually becomes capable of storming the verse's equivalent to Area 51, complete with every trained soldier that would entail, and coming out unscathed. It's a series where a homemade bomb the size of a cookie box was capable of obliterating a cruise ship, and where normal guys put on bomb suits and gained the ability to walk through endless amounts of tank shells and RPG rounds without stopping. (And these examples weren't gameplay mechanics; they were actual plot elements) The problem with the above assumption is that GTA doesn't run on that sort of logic. It never has.

There are also missions where the characters are outright given more weapons than any normal person can carry, so that's another reason why this point shouldn't be bothered with.
