Yeah, I still think CJ smokes the poor Tree.
You don't even really need Building level power to actually kill the Tree. Damage its roots or its hide too much (which 20+ satchel charges, a tank blast, an exploding airliner, etc. will probably do) and it dies.
Plus, whatever the Tree can do with its toxins will just be negated by CJ's ability to automatically resurrect. Which he can pretty much do as many times as he wants.

What is CJ's standard equipment? He has like 3 different arsenals that are gotten via cheats or painstakingly looking for them or going out of his way to buy them, of which are carried on his body by gameplay mechanics, and none has been specified.
He doesn't start with a vehicle too.
Resurrection upon death is also a gameplay mechanic. Has he been res'd in a cinematic that I'm not aware of?

All GTA characters have resurrection from the low-godly regen hospitals, not that he even comes close to needing it.
