Personally for me, I find popular verses among the Vs Debating community annoying myself (DBZ, the HST, One Punch Man, Marvel, DC, whatever) annoying because I do feel they get in the way of more original or unique debates like ones for stuff that's relatively small (most non-Konosuba isekais, unheard-of shows like Grojband and Time Lincoln, Puyo Puyo, etc) in comparison. I even tried a match that's Arle vs Sailor Moon (because duh!) and nobody gave a rat's arse even with Tonygameman's efforts to give the Puyo Puyo verse a strong and informative stance.

Any debate involving a very popular character can get pretty messy. Either they like the verse so it’s 0A+ with 200000x baseline immeasurable speed, or they hate the verse, and everyone downscales from a pebble
 
I agree with peoe saying "the most powerful verses", unless it's a gag verse. Because then you inevitably have people that supposedly would be able to vanquish galaxies or universes and then they just don't, "X should be able to one-shot the universe", then Y dodge his attack and nothing happens

Not really, Thor and Silver Surfer are professional jobbers as well, but I wasn't even thinking about comics my first thought actually went to OP mangaverse like Saint Seiya ("Golden saints can destroy a galaxy with a punch!", yet they don't) and DB, especially Super ("Goku can destroy the universe with a punch", yet he doesn't), but tbh every fight since Cell arc if they were coherent should have been something similar to what we see when two God of destructions clashes, destroying planet like it's nothing. Well, considering their power this should happen like al the time since DBZ last arcs 😅
 
hmm. Goku was gonna destroy the universe in his clash with beerus. So says elder Kai anyway. The fact that he gets vastly stronger and the same effects don’t appear is true. For saint seiya, attacks are focused on the atomic level, which is why the collateral damage isn’t very high. Only the atoms of the enemy are targeted. For the most part yeah strong verses aren’t very consistent in their portrayal of power. It’s to be expected since story is prioritized over power scaling

There are a few that I need to mention cause just one won't suffice.

Touhou-"Flandre can destroy anything and no one can beat her!" "Yukari is omnipotent because she can control the boundaries of anything and no one can beat her!" etc..

Undertale-Not against Undertale but for it. Specifically towards the people who claim that Undertale is all below average human level because a human child can solo the Underground, despite the mountain (pun fully intended) of evidence debunking that. Even had people claiming characters like Doomguy (before DOOM Eternal) shitstomps the verse, and one guy unironically said that God Asriel is only average human level because he just has the power of 7 human children 🤡. Undertale is so heavily downplayed sometimes (or wanked with people who claim that Undyne is mountain level or that the Annoying Dog is omnipotent).

Naruto/Bleach/Any mainstream Shonen-"xd naruto universe level!!1" "XD that's downplay clearly ichigo is low multiversal" "LOL luffy is large planet level 😂"

DOOM-Doomguy is probably one of the most wanked characters I've seen, even up there with Saitama. Doubt I need to elaborate.

It was stated many times in the same battle by several different characters that their clashes would destroy the universe, with Elder Kai elaborating that literally nothing would remain, and that both Goku and even Beerus would inevitably die from the aftermath. A much more toned down version of this was also seen in the manga, of course. Even after that we get other universe level statements, characters affecting the World of Void (although it being infinite is a controversial topic still), as well as the Gods of Destruction being consistently, repeatedly stated as capable of destroying entire universes.

And to top it all off, while it could still be said even then that the amount of evidence for a universal Goku or higher is limited, that doesn't change the fact that there is no relevant counter evidence against it, let alone enough to actually say that it's untrue.

Quora is a joke. In one thread asking the disaster levels of different characters in OPM, with Yamcha being one of them, most people claimed he would be Tiger level at best. I've also seen people claim that if ToP Goku and Vegeta work together they can beat Lucifer Morningstar. Or people say that the Naruto verse beats the Living Tribunal. And of course people saying Killua would beat Piccolo or that Meruem beats Perfect Cell.

You know the people who claim Saitama is infinite? Well, at least they have some form of understandable reasoning for that, even if it's obviously very flawed. Even if the wank isn't quite as big, I've seen people on Quora argue that Saitama is equal to Jiren because they look similar and have similar fighting styles (even though the latter is completely wrong).

Not to mention that I've literally had some of my replies to absurd arguments deleted because they were "Offensive" when all I did was debunk them, I never even insulted anyone on there, showing that whatever moderation is on the site doesn't work too well, either.

The versus battles side of the website is a complete mess, but tbf, Quora isn't really meant for that stuff, so I can't say the same for the rest of the site.
