Cannibalized Worm: Alpha RP Thread 2

Rai eventually stops wanting to scream when she has her nostrils filled with the rotting stench of the city's waste, and realizes blood is leaking all over her suit from Gurman's bare, flayed chest.

She holds her breath and touches it, getting him back into shape again.

"... You must be getting pretty strong with all these injuries, huh..."

Gurman keeps entirely silent, keeping his breath still and quiet.

"... Moments like these are when you really need someone to talk back, you know."

She starts to still her breath as well, as she just tries to wrap her head around everything.

Trying to cut the darkness does nothing, as it is immaterial and has no physical form.

You hear the sound of a explosion, although you can tell that it's mildly muted from distance.

From your bird's eye view, you see an explosion go off in the distance.

The stairs flatten and turn into a slide, causing you to lose your balance.

@Crimson

The wolf growls.

"What does it look like dumb ass, it's a dog ring. Stop trying to change the subject, this is a fight!"

He runs at you.

@WHY

Your swords manage to dig into the machine guns, but aren't strong enough to cleave straight through them in a single blow. The other machine guns point at the two of you.

@Dargoo

You are unable to find anything. The explosion launched the vigilante's remains out of sight.

The raven shrugs.

"Fine."

Cain turns purple and then fades away. The raven then turns to Accelerator.

"You'll remember."
 
Klawz decided to go towards the explosion, giving a flap of his wings as he flew towards the source of the detonation.
 
I am quite miffed at this point

"This staircase cannot be anything other than a staircase."

I say this through clenched teeth and as quickly as possible
 
I'm baffled. Throwing away his life like that... just so his friends weren't captured.

The whole situation made me conflicted. I could tell they were holding back just like my team, but they still mercilessly slaughtered the inhabitants of that warehouse. Truely, I couldn't ever understand vigilantes.

The display of gore brought in a massive crowd. I'm sure the PR team at the PRT are going nuts at the moment.

I walked over to Earth, who seemed to be regaining a hold of himself.

"What... the hell happened?" He asked, slowly getting up.

"One of them killed themselves to make a distraction so the rest could escape. And it worked."

"Wind... did she..."

I yanked the scalple out of Earth's elbow. He grunted.

"Saw the whole thing.I don't even know what to do. She's just staring off, won't even look at me." Earth got up, straining himself. "Hey, wait, you need to-"

"Shut up," he interrupts me.

Earth hobbles over to Wind, and sits down next to her. "Hey, kid. I don't know if yer hear'n me, but I'm here. It's... okay."

Wind doesn't respond, so he just keeps his distance.

I decide to keep on searching the area with Armsmaster, who looks visibly angry. I decide it's not the best to strike a conversation.

I hear sirens approaching in the distance; it seems medical's here. I'm still clutching my wound. It's bleeding seems to have cooled down. It's like the vigilante wasn't even aiming for an artery.

I then notice something in the corner of my eye. The guts and limbs are... moving?

I call over Armsmaster to look at what's going on.

You see the aftermath of a fight. There are multiple people wearing costume along with the bloody remains of someone on the ground.

A message is repeated from the armor. "Warning! Power rapidly depleting!"

The staircase unflattens.

I maintain my balance while moving up the stairs as quickly as possible
 
"Alright, I'll choose to build a body. " He agrees with Accelerayor on this he has two sets of memories already what could a third really do to him?

After what felt like forever, Rai started to look around.

The heroes were far off their trail, they were focused handling either the crowd, themselves, or the bloody mush on the street.

Rai: Radio in. I think we have an opening.

Gurman gets his hands free from the garbage, then gets his comms back up.

"We have an opening to get out. Jack is a stain on the street. Rescue isn't an option."

Mister Wizard didn't give any response as the vigilantes tried to sneak through the street.

As they made their way through the crowd, trying to draw no attention, Rai couldn't stop looking at the body.

"They had Regen, that was obvious enough. But, could he live through that...?

I feel like the answer may haunt me, but, we can't stay here to get it right now."

Jack's Gorey bits started to look a little bit more humanoid with time, as his cells started to regenerate and pull him back into consiousness. Convinently, it looks like the suit he was wearing also had some regenerative properties, as it's starting to recover along with his torso.

Although it's a very long hallway, you see some stairs at the end of it.

As you try going up the stairs, the door that you previously had kept open shut.

The raven looks at you guys again.

"Like I said, same as before."

You glow purple and fade away.

[Head to the meta thread and post your new build]

The raven frowns.

"Now that I'm missing one, I'm going to need another person. Hmmm."

It waves its wings around to create a purple portal. A white humanoid entity flies out before glowing purple and fading away.

The raven preens.

"Yes, that should do it."

You keep running, but you reach the end of the alley. It's a dead end. There are fire escapes on the sides of the buildings.

@Dargoo

Armsmaster looks suprised but then thinks of a plan. He has Velocity look over the general area to pick up body parts and put them in a pile. Then he gets a canister that he sprays foam onto the pile from. The foam hardens slightly and he has Velocity pick it up and take it back to base.

He turns to you to explain.

"That's what we use to contain capes. The foam is breathable, but judging by his insane level of Regenerationn, he probably doesn't need to."

@Blah

You see the aftermath of a fight. There are multiple people wearing costume along with the bloody remains of someone on the ground getting put together and then sprayed down with foam.
 
I'm going to regret this.

As the metalic wolf pursues him, Vincent climbs onto one of the Fire Escapes on the side, and jumps straight through the first window in front of him.

[If this works]

Vincent apologizes in case of someone being there, runs in and immediatly looks for a weapon.

[If this doesn't work]

Vincent keeps climbing the fire escape, all the way to the top.
 
With Earth and Wind still keeping away from the moving about of PRT members, cleanup crews, ambulances and police, they don't really comment, although Earth tensed up a bit seeing the fleshy bits crawling together.

"The professionals really do have it all. Your design?" I ask. "I'm happy he isn't dead, this at least explains why he was so carefree about bombing himself."

I explain to Armsmaster and any of the other PRT members in the area everything I have learned about the group of vigilantes, as well as the massacre at the warehouse near the Merchant's frequent hitspot. I request a more through investigation into the area.

"I... think my team needs to call it quits for today," I say, looking towards Wind, "My teammates didn't expect to be dealing with this level of carnage on their first day, and we're nearly all out of steam. Is there a room we can stay at in the PRT?"
 
Jack eventually regenerates to the point that he regains vision, and realizes his situation.

".... Well, I suppose it was too optimistic that I'd get up from the pieces on the other side of town."

He tries to flex out of the bonds, which of course doesn't actually work.
 
[This much noise would absolutely draw a crowd, though I'd imagine they'd try to keep them away from the scene itself as best they can manage]
 
I have a bad feeling about this

[assuming i've gotten most or all of the goo off]

I quickly sprint up the stairs, attempting to open the door at the top [if there is one] the same way i did the last one
 
I switch to fresh identitiy and put normal clothes on ovr my stealth suit.

Then I go through the crowd, shifting my way to the front, and ask a few people "did you see what happened?"
 
"You can literally do multiple actions at the same time!"I tell my past self before using Schroedigner to cut each gun on the left wall twice in the same spot again using my other three actions to avoid any harm. My past self quickly does the same thing.

The stairway curves so you can't see what's at bottom unless you keep going until you reach it.

The first window is boarded up, so you climb the fire escape to the roof. The wolf is following you up by clawing his way up the side of the building.

"Get back here!"

@Dargoo

"No, not mine. That was a pretty dangerous tactic."

He listens to your report.

"Hmm. Such blatant disregard for the rules. We'll focus more patrols in this area. There's boarding at the base, Glenn will show you where it is."

@DMUA/Jack

You have been placed in a cell.

@Blah

[There is a crowd, taking pictures. Velocity is keeping them from getting too close.]

One of them turns to you.

"That female cape had them in the air and then one of them pulled out a grenade and exploded!"

As you start going upstairs, you notice a skull heading in your direction at high speeds from behind you.

@WHY

The machineguns are cut in half and then you hear a large whirring all around you.
 
Still taking the form of a raven, Klawz hopped around the perimeter of the aftermath, looking around at what he could see.
 
"Awww, come on doggy, you really don't know when to give up. Did you like me? Is that why you have been following me?"

Vincent throws insults at him, making sure to stay at the center of the roof.
 
S.R.E.E. turns around and fires her cannon at the door furthest down the hall, she then starts walking down the stairs.
 
Gurman and Rai eventually made their way back to base, and walked through the door, soaked with blood, their clothes burnt up, and faces weary.

No one uttered a word, for several minutes on end as Gurman dropped Jack's sword on the ground and got of his thoroughly ruined suit, while Rai just sat down to continue thinking.

Eventually, after unburying himself in the footage taking the internet by storm, Mister Wizard spoke up.

Mister Wizard:... How many injuries did you take before the incident?

Rai:... Way too many.

Mister Wizard:.... Where are you going to put them, now?

Another silence took the room for a few minutes, then Gurman pointed to the room with the merchant they captured.

Rai:... He hasn't done anything really wrong, has he? All he did was get with the wrong crowd and dragged into a mess way bigger then him... Just like all of us, I think.

Rai got up with a bit of determination.

Rai:.... We're going to continue this operation. We may be here because we were nobodies... But we're going to become somebody. We're going to take down these merchants, no matter what. And I'm going to use this cache on people who've really earned it... not guys like him.

Rai looked back at Jack's sword, sitting there on the ground, with a bit of blood on it. She got over to it and picked it up, looking at it's craft in finer detail. Then she swung it a few times, getting an idea of the weight it really has.

"... This really isn't mine."

She put it on the table after wiping the blood off, then turned back to Mister Wizard.

Mister Wizard:.... Well, the PRT's probably going to be all over that area of town, so, let's pick a location on the lower end of things.

They got the map out again, and picked a spot away from the current damage, and with no delay, set out again. Gurman had to leave his suit behind for repairs, but a shirt would do well enough with how much he's powered up at this point.

Jack gets hauled into the cell, the foam having come off at some point as he's tossed in. The guards wandered off without a word.

"...."

Jack got comfortable, sitting in the corner of the wall and really getting the feel for the stone that it's made of, as he just took a sigh and reflected.

"... Wonder when they're going to interrogate me. They're gonna be looking for the others, and I'm the best lead."

He took a look at the camera in the corner of the room, knowing that Mister Wizard would probably eventually get the footage.

"... Well, would you look at that. Only about an hour and I'm lonely."

Wind seems to have calmed down a bit. Enough to walk alongside Earth with me back to the PRT base.

It takes a couple hours for the situation to calm down, with my wound getting wrapped up by some of the paramedics before releasing me. We enter the building, and ask for Glenn after giving the secretary a flash of the symbol on my paper, which, amazingly, was still in my pocket.

Guess it turned to fire with my clothes, huh.

While we wait in the lobby, I take a seat next to Earth and Wind.

Earth speaks up after silence through the way back. "Fire, I just want'a head home."

"I don't think we can. This isn't even just a different city, it's a different world."

"So what? You'd think with all that fancy tech n' powers they'd have something."

"I think there's a reason we were brought here. I think there's something we need to fight, something we need to fix."

I look out the window. The sun's setting off in the distance, blanketing my face with warmth, and drying some of the blood on my bandage. It was hard to believe such a beautiful city was falling apart at the seems. I turn back to Earth, "We're heroes. That hasn't changed. And when we see something this terrible, we need to keep on pushing forward."

Wind looks my way a little, then goes back to staring in front of herself.

I put out my hand face-down in front of them. "September?"

Earth hesitates a bit, but puts his hand on top of mind. "September."

We both look to Wind, who shuffles around a bit. She opens her mouth to talk, but just closes it again. Earth makes gestures for her to come over, and does his best attempt to smile, making a grinding noise like a knife being whetted.

She puts her hand on top of ours, then croaks,"September."
 
I quickly turn around and stick my hand out to stop the skull mid-air, but not actually catch it, while still moving up the stairs, albiet a little slower due to walking backwards

The action seems to have died down, with nothing else happening in the immediate area.

"******! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"

The wolf bolts in your direction.

As you turn down the steps and turn, you see another hallway.

As the two of you patrol, you notice the smell of blood in the air. Following the scent leads you to a building with a large ice spike sticking out of it and dead bodies that look like they were either mauled by a large animal or shot in the head.

Glenn shows up and leads you and your team to a room you can stay at.

@HL3

You hear a hissing noise upstairs, but don't feel anything moving. Turning around to stop the skull lets you notice what threw it. A giant muscled figure.
 
Using my x-ray vision, I see the way the mush is moving.

"That's insane…" I say to the man. " I hope that girl's alright."

I begin using X-ray vision on the "heroes" there to see which how human each one is.
