Can Goku and Sonic breathe in space?

They can't breathe underwater, we don't have anything against this argument so far.

They wear space suit in space, because they can't breathe in space.

Now they are in space without any space suit, because they can breathe in space.

What the hell just happened?

Fairly sure game and comic sonic are different continuities. Especially the Archie series, completely non-canon to the games.

As for Dragon Ball, Goku never really got out of the "Human" mindset and always assumes he needs air. It's justified, Saiyans need air to live. BUT Saiyans have been shown to be able to go into outer atmospheres completely fine and hold regular conversations. This is speculative, but it could very well be that Goku simply can hold air in his lungs easily (because being God Tier sort of lets your body do stupid physics f*cking things) or that Godly Ki allows some sort of advantage. Or hell maybe he just LEARNED how to breathe in space. OR OR, DBS characters move so fast that air is literally unable to escape their lungs fast enough for the characters to care. Take your pic.

You just made this sound really complicating.

About both: in the first pics it seems that they just holding teir breath, in the second made clear that they can't survive in the vacuum (although one of them is Toei filler, but it doesn't contradict anything), and thirst pic is typical ignorance from Toei and most likely plot from Sonic. But afaik, neither of then can't survive in the vacuum and needs oxigen to survive (I could be wrong with Sonic).

About Sonic, in the continuity of Archie the common characters always had to breathe (When Enerjak sent Knuckles to the moon he created an airbag for him to breathe). But in the games from the beginning it was never shown the Sonic needs to breathe in the space, in fact in many levels of the games the Sonic appears in the space and does not need to breathe.

Well, they are both living organism, so they need oxygen to survive. But then again, how can you talk in space without running out of oxygen?

I think there's a certain point on when it really matters. Sure space would tear the air in your lungs out but when the person in question is massively hypersonic naturally or even FTL, the threat is naturally less. Air is coming out of my lungs at supersonic speeds? That's cute, I'm FTL.

im pretty sure super sonic can definitely breathe in space and i don't think he'll even need it.

in sonic 4 he can even breathe in water.

I wonder what a battle would be like with Super Siyan God Goku vs someone who is made entirely of space/ Thoughts?

>Can destroy a universe

>Still can't survive in space

This is such a dumb weakness, would think it would be overcomed by now, and no goku can't "breath" in space vegeta die in rof due to that.

Goku vs beerus was just up in he upper atmosphere, certaintly not enough air there for a normal human, but for goku it's enough.

Vegeta's death was due to him letting his guard down.

Where does it say that?

When Whis explained the reason Frieza could survive was because he could breathe in Space unlike Vegeta

Vegeta was visibly surprised at Freeza blowing up the planet like that and clearly was not at all prepared for it. It's like getting thrown into an ice cold pool whilst mid-exhaling. You're not gonna be ready for it

DBZ space survival: I know what you mean about Saiyan physiology, but if we play in actual anatomy and science into this from NASA actual experiments about what happens when humans and other animals in the vacuum of space. Let's begin with Humans. NASA scientists have concluded from testing in the vacuum of space pass out after about 15 seconds. 90 seconds after exposure, you'll die from asphyxiation. It is within the 90-180 seconds if a human is placed in the pressurized environment they can still be saved. 1965, researchers at the Brooks Air Force Base in Texas ran a series of experiments on man's best friend. Dogs were the next tests in the vacuum of space only to became unconscious after 10-20 seconds. Chimpanzees were the final subjects to experiment what would happen in the vacuum of space. They did much better than the dogs and humans, with most able to survive for up to 3 minutes, with the record being 3 and a half minutes. For those under 3 minutes, they not only were fine, but the researchers were able to confirm that their cognitive abilities, with one exception, were not damaged in any way. Which, concluded the results in NASA experiments. (You can find this source on many sites including NASA database todayifoundout.com - How Long You Could Survive in Space Without a Space Suit ) So, what happens when we place a Saiyan who has physiology greatly above humans and Chimpanzees? They obviously by should be able to survive more than 3 mins, maybe 10 mins are the longest Thus, this is the reason why Whis or Goku could have easily safe Vegeta in the short time before dying in space. Even if we say Vegeta would lose conscious similar to a human around 15 seconds. That still leaves an extra 90 to 180 seconds to be saved before dying from asphyxiation.

Little known fact original Beerus wasn't able to survive in space during his first appearance in Battle of God's, but when Dragon Ball Super episodes started to run. Beerus had a retcon to survive in space. So, Goku only way to beat this weakness is with a retcon.

Bro, do you even science

They never said he was killed from the explosion and they mention Frieza survived because he can survive in a vacuum.

It's far easier to assume Vegeta died because of the lax of oxygen since they brought up that Frieza could survive without it.

Even Frieza at his weakest was able to survive planet explosions and Vegeta had plenty of time to notice the planet exploding since regular humans were able to react to it.

Bulma's Parents and 18 all noticed the Earth falling apart.

In fact we should be questioning on why Whis didn't save Vegeta when someone at his speed had plenty of time to save him.
