They both make sense as far as the Captain Marvel feat goes, so I don't see why we shouldn't use both.

For Thor, the bomb would diffuse in 5 minutes. Marvel took it to space at Mach 1214 (13 seconds), so I think using the difference in time to find when the bomb exploded after Thor threw it should give us the acceptable speed.

Also I just remembered, to prevent cluttering this thread, any further discussion should be taken here (if you have more to add.)
 
I would appreciate help with evaluating the Katekyo Hitman Reborn blog, both from the calc group and other staff members (as it deals with other issues as well).
