Introduction

Welcome everyone to BuffyVerse revision. Before I begin I would like to thank @Mr._Bambu , @KLOL506, @Executor_N0, @Psychomaster35 for helping
with the calculations. ow without further talking let's get into the revisions!!

Keys

Everyone in the verse needs new and corrected keys

Let's start with the Illyria God-King first.

There are two keys on Illyria's profile. One for illyria at full power and the other for weakened illyria.

First, the name of the full power switch should be changed to True Form.

Secondly, it must get a new key named Human Form. This key is for Illyria's form in which it takes over Fred's body.

Weakened illyria key also remains as the third key.

Let's continue with Buffy

Buffy will get a base key for her normal self

she will receive a new key called Enjoining spell. This key is for Buffy's form, where she becomes the focal point of a spell that grants the combined abilities of Xander, Willow, and Giles.

she will receive a third key called Twilight's empowerment. This key is for Buffy empowered by Twilight.

And she will receieve a fourth key called Collective Slayer powers. This key is for Buffy's form where she has the power of all slayers.

Angel will get the base key for his normal state

He will receive a new key called Twilight's empowerment. This key is for Angel empowered by Twilight.

Willow will get the post-dark key as the third key. This key is for Willow after her Dark era.

As the fourth key, she will receive The Seed of Wonder Connection - Traversing the Multiverse key. This key is for Willow after she strengthens herself with the seed.

And she will get the New Rules key as the fifth key

Characters summaries

Buffy Anne Summers [17][2] was a Slayer activated in the late 20th century. Born on January 19, 1981,[18][19] she was called to be the Slayer in 1996 at fifteen years old.[6][20] Buffy was originally living in Los Angeles, but, due to an incident involving a gang of vampires at Hemery High School,[21] she moved to Sunnydale with her mother,[17] where she acted as guardian of the Hellmouth for seven years before the town's destruction in mid-2003.[22]

Initially a reluctant hero who constantly wished for nothing more than a normal life,[17] Buffy eventually grew to embrace her destiny.[23] She was unique as a Slayer in many ways;[24] she refused to sacrifice her ordinary life for her supernatural destiny,[25] often operated as part of a team with her friends the Scooby Gang,[26] and had romantic relationships with the notorious vampires Angel[27] and Spike.[28]

Buffy was one of the longest-lived Slayers, having returned from death twice[23][29] and coexisted with the two next Slayers,[30][7] an act that disrupted the magic surrounding the traditional line.[31] During the war with the First Evil, Buffy enacted a plan to activate multiple Potential Slayers in the world, abolishing the traditional line of Chosen Ones, and closing the Hellmouth.[22] She then dedicated to gathering and training the ever-growing number of Slayers with the Slayer Organization, who became persecuted themselves[32] when the supernatural became public knowledge.[33]

After rejecting her prophecized place in the dimension of Twilight,[34] a reward for shifting the balance of power in the world,[35] Buffy prevented it from replacing and destroying the Earth when she brought about the end of magic.[36] She then established herself in San Francisco, where she continued her Slayer duties.[37] Buffy eventually restored magic on Earth,[38] took responsibility for its new rules with the Vampyr book, became the leader of a new Magic Council,[39] and exposed a government conspiracy to criminalize supernatural beings.[40] Ultimately, Buffy was the Slayer who defined the battle of the Reckoning, which allowed Slayers to exist and work towards a better future, changing the course of history up to the 23rd century.[41]

Faith Lehane was a Slayer called in 1998[9] and the last one to be called by the original succession line abolished in 2003.[10] Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Faith had a difficult upbringing and life, which left her with various trust and emotional issues. Though she found some stability with her Watcher, the woman was murdered by the vampire Kakistos and Faith retreated to Sunnydale, where she became a friend and ally of Buffy Summers and the Scooby Gang.[9]

However, numerous events and circumstances took a toll on Faith's better judgment and she defected to the side of the evil Mayor Richard Wilkins,[2] helping him to carry out his Ascension, able to find the stable father figure she always wanted. On the day before the climactic Graduation Day battle, Faith was critically injured by Buffy and put in a coma,[3] from which she awakened eight months later.[6] She proceeded to wreak even more havoc in Buffy's life and then attempted to kill Angel in Los Angeles as part of a deal with Wolfram & Hart. However, this was a ruse by Faith in order to get Angel to kill her instead as Faith had actually become remorseful of her past deeds and wanted to end her life.[11] Nevertheless, with help from Angel, she came to terms with her past and willingly surrendered herself to the L.A.P.D. to face the consequences of her actions.[12]

Three years later, Faith busted out of prison to assist Angel Investigations in containing the recently released Angelus,[5] subsequently returning to Sunnydale with Willow Rosenberg after Angel was re-ensouled[13] to assist the Scoobies in their battle against the First Evil and its army.[14] Furthermore, Faith was appointed the leader of the Scoobies after they lost confidence in Buffy's leadership,[15] only for Buffy to be accepted back as the leader when Faith's first plan led herself and several Potentials into a near-fatal trap.[16] After the First was defeated and multiple Potential Slayers were activated worldwide,[10] Faith initially stationed herself with the new Slayer Organization's Cleveland squad,[17] until she joined forces with Rupert Giles to prevent more Slayers from going rogue.[18]

After the ensuing Twilight crisis and the end of magic, which also resulted in Giles' death, Faith was bequeathed with all of Giles' property and possessions in accordance with his will.[19] She stationed herself in London, where she continued to assist a London Slayer squad, while working alongside Angel to tend to Giles' unfinished business.[20] Faith decided to stick by Angel when he wanted to resurrect Giles,[21] and the three fought against Whistler's plan to "save" the world while destroying millions of people. Faith then decided to leave Angel and London behind, needing time on her own to sort out her life.[22]

She worked some time assisting the Slayer company Deepscan in several missions[23][24][25] and helped Angel in his new team with the Magic Town in London.[26] Faith was eventually summoned in San Francisco and rejoined the Scoobies in dealing with the government's Safe Zones.[27] She participated of the battle of the Reckoning by their side, then joined the police academy along with Buffy, in order to become police officers of the supernatural division.[28]

Spike (born William Pratt)[13][14][15] was a famous and widely-feared vampire turned in 1880.[16] He was well-known among both humans and demons for having faced and killed two Slayers during his unlife, as well as his history of torturing his victims with railroad spikes. His reputation for evil and bloodshed was second only to that of his grandsire Angelus.[17] In his human life, William was an unappreciated romantic poet known as William the Bloody, for his "bloody awful" poetry, though after he became a vampire, that moniker was re-purposed to imply he was very violent. After being sired by Drusilla, he reinvented himself and terrorized Europe alongside Drusilla, Angel, and Darla throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.[16]

Spike first traveled to Sunnydale in 1997, accompanied by Drusilla.[17] He quickly established himself as one of Buffy Summers' most dangerous enemies, but he was eventually forced into a series of uneasy alliances with her[18] and her team, the Scooby Gang,[19] after being captured by the Initiative and implanted with a cerebral microchip that rendered him unable to harm humans.[2] Eventually, Spike realized that he had fallen in love with Buffy[20] and officially joined the Scoobies,[21] later being motivated by his love for her to successfully fight to regain his soul.[3]

Spike sacrificed his life in battle against the First Evil, both defeating its Turok-Han army and permanently closing the Hellmouth, as well as destroying the town of Sunnydale.[7] However, bound to an amulet, Spike became an incorporeal entity haunting the halls of Wolfram & Hart Los Angeles branch, then under the management of Team Angel.[5] After becoming corporeal again,[1] Spike struggled to find a place in the world, only to join Angel in his battle against the Senior Partners.[22] With Illyria by his side, he acted as the Lord of Beverly Hills during the Fall of Los Angeles.[23]

After rescuing a ship and a bug crew of his own from Wolfram & Hart,[24] Spike reunited with Buffy and the Scoobies in the battle against Twilight.[25] He went to San Francisco to continue supporting Buffy during the end of magic,[26] but left for a time in the hopes of "finding himself,"[27] before returning to San Francisco when he heard the news that Dawn was sick.[28] He then established himself in the city alongside the Scooby Gang,[29] sharing an apartment with Xander and working as a supernatural consultant for S.F.P.D.[30] With this new life, he and the Slayer gave a chance for a serious relationship,[31] staying by her side even during their break up to fight in the Reckoning as a member of the Scooby Gang.[15]

Angel was one of the most well-known vampires in all of vampiric history, legendary for both his savage villainy[8] and his great heroism.[10] Born Liam in 1727 in Galway, Ireland,[11] he was sired by Darla in 1753,[12] taking the name Angelus, he earned notoriety as the worst vampire in history.[8] Both the Master[2] and the First Evil[13] recognized and appreciated how purely evil Angelus was. He was also known as the One with the Angelic Face because of his physical beauty.[2] However, in 1898, Angelus was cursed by the Kalderash people as vengeance for killing their favorite daughter. They returned his soul, forcing him to live eternally in guilt over the countless crimes he had committed.[14]

In the late 20th century, Angel, as he began calling himself, became an ally and lover of the current Slayer, Buffy Summers. After the two were forced to realize their limitations as a couple,[15] Angel left Buffy and moved to Los Angeles. Believing that even someone as damned as him possessed the potential to become a harbinger of good and redemption, he became a Champion[16] and dedicated himself to "helping the helpless" with the Angel Investigations[17] in the hope of achieving atonement.[16]

Eventually, Angel adopted the identity of the masked Twilight and gathered a cabal of humans and demons who had become wary of the rise of multiple Slayers. As Twilight, Angel sought to keep these forces distracted as well as make Buffy grow more focused and stronger, and at the same time, try to keep the deaths as low as he could.[18] When Angel came to his senses and rebelled against the real Twilight, it possessed him[19] and fought Buffy in the ruins of Sunnydale, where she stopped Twilight by destroying the Seed of Wonder, causing the end of magic.[20] After being purged of Twilight, Angel fell into a catatonic state.[21]

Upon awakening, Angel, along with Faith Lehane, once again dedicated himself to redemption, this time by resurrecting his most recent victim: Rupert Giles.[22] He eventually succeeded, and was soon after forced into conflict by the maddened Whistler, who wished to restore magic to the world by unleashing a mystical plague, even if it meant killing billions of people.[23] Angel managed to reason with him, causing Whistler to give up his life by sacrificing himself. Once the world was saved, Angel decided to stay in London and help the people in the newly created Magic Town.[24]

Willow Danielle[2] Rosenberg was a witch native to Sunnydale, California, a founding member of the Scooby Gang, and the best friend and semi-official sidekick of the Slayer, Buffy Summers. Willow started out as a shy computer nerd,[3] eventually developing her talents to become a powerful and assertive witch.[4]

Willow was introduced to the forces of magic by attempting a complex spell to re-ensoul Angel.[5] To her own surprise, Willow tapped into considerable power during this ritual and would come to practice witchcraft.[6][7] Willow was quick to grasp basic spells and, with support from her girlfriend Tara Maclay, her powers blossomed even more rapidly.[8] Milestones in her magical career include the enjoining spell,[9] taking on the hell-goddess Glory and surviving,[10] resurrecting Buffy,[11] nearly ending the world,[12] activating multiple Potential Slayers,[13] and, eventually, establishing herself as Earth's greatest witch.[14]

Illyria, known as Illyria the Merciless[1] and the God-King of the Primordium,[2] was one of the Old Ones, the powerful pure-bred demons that ruled Earth during the Primordium Age. In 2004, she reincarnated in the body of Winifred Burkle.[3]

Upon her predestined resurrection, Illyria immediately went about her plan to unleash her army upon humanity, but it was all thwarted when she discovered the destruction of her Army of Doom.[4] Lost and purposeless, and driven by the memories of Fred, Illyria struggled to find her place in the new world, and ultimately joined the Angel Investigations team in their fight.[5] She fought besides Spike during the fall of Los Angeles and joined forces with Buffy Summers during the end of magic, when she sacrificed herself to create a new Seed of Wonder.[1]

However, Fred and Illyria were resurrected with the new magic, with both sharing the same body. They were reunited with Angel in London[6] and eventually participated on the battle of the Reckoning with the Scooby Gang,[7] when Illyria sacrificed herself once again leading the enemy army to be banished into a hell dimension with her.[8]

Intelligence
Genius in combat
Although she was sometimes considered a dumb blonde by others, Buffy frequently showed herself to be quite intelligent, possessing strong leadership skills and having a natural flair for tactical planning. Prominent examples of Buffy's intelligence included her near-perfect S.A.T. score, her defeat of Zachary Kralik by using his dependency on anti-psychotic medication against him, her quick deduction of the Buffybot's true nature, her rapid deduction of Riley's affiliation to the Initiative based on weeks of evidence, and her immediate realization of Katrina Silber's true murderer upon hearing her name at the police station, leading an army with supernatural powers. As with every Slayer, Buffy possessed a natural proficiency with virtually all forms of weaponry and unarmed combat styles, and in addition to this she had years of combat training to hone in her skills using various martial arts (particularly jiu jitsu and aikido). With zero training and effort, Buffy effectively uses official weapon maneuvers and styles to defeat Giles on the first day of quarter staff training. Trained for years by Giles. His fighting style takes from Karate, Hapkido, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Brazilian JiuJitsu, Wushu, Boxing, Wrestling and Tai Chi. In addition to his proficiency in many forms of martial arts, he mastered many varieties of weapons, favoring broadswords and sometimes axes. He was even more dangerous without a soul, when he would fight with no remorse. During his lifetime, Angel successfully stood up to and defeated a wide variety of powerful and skilled opponents, including Buffy Summers, Faith Lehane, Marcus Hamilton, Riley, and Connor, amongst others Additionally, Angel beat Spike on numerous occasions, only losing to his protégé once in their century plus association.[36] Following Darla being sired by Drusilla, a cold, ruthless and driven Angel was shown to have single-handedly defeated around twenty vampires and demons in one fight.[70] Angel was also able to physically dominate The Beast, forcing the demon to its knees before finally succumbing to The Beast's strength.

Acrobatics: Angel often uses acrobatics

Immortality (Type 7): Vampires' bodies are already dead[10], so they cannot be killed by normal means.

Self-Sustenance (Type 1 and 2): Vampires do not breathe and can survive for an indefinite period of time without feeding.

Resistance to Extrasensory Perception: Due to his undead body, Angel lacks the usual life signs. He uses this to defeat a blind assassin whose ability to sense other's life signs made her a difficult combatant.

Resistance to Possession: His demon self stops Eyghon the Sleepwalker from possessing his body. The two demonic entities battle and Angel's demon side is the victor.

Empathy Manipulation: Vampire bites trigger the pleasure centers of the victim, meaning most don't even fight back when they're being bitten. Angel exploits this to calm down Willow who's been taken over by dark magic.

Intelligence
Gifted
Angel was an extremely intelligent vampire. He could speak many languages fluently, including English, Korean, Tibetan, Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, French, Belarusian, Romanian and German. He also had strong leadership abilities and was adept at strategic planning. Despite having lost his soul, Angel had an impressive ability to manipulate the emotional states of others, using psychological tactics to attack the Scooby Gang and Angel Investigations. He demonstrated these skills most notably by causing Drusilla to lose her mind.

Angel also had experience with magic. He was capable of casting spells, exorcisms, and dispelling spells, but preferred to rely on the expertise of others rather than perform them himself if the option was available. He also, with the wisdom of age, possessed a great knowledge of demonology and history, sometimes rivaling that of Giles and Wesley in these matters.

He also had a photographic memory and never forgot anything he saw.

Base

Martial Arts and Weapon Mastery:
Spike was famous for having killed two Slayers.[17] Lloyd referred to him as "a legendary dark warrior,"[160] and Buffy once went as far as referring to him as the strongest fighter the Scoobies had.[33] Spike was a highly skilled and versatile fighter in both armed and unarmed combat. For example, he was able to briefly overcome Illyria during a test of her abilities when she was at the height of her powers, doing so after he trained with her for months and adapted to her abilities. Illyria criticized his (and others') ability to adapt, calling it "compromise."[101]

Much like Angel, Spike was proficient in various forms of martial arts, and his typical fighting style blends Judo, Karate, Muay Thai, Kung-Fu, street-fighting, and boxing. He was also able to discern Taekwondo and Brazilian jujitsu as the fighting styles that Illyria had proficiency in.

Enhanced Senses:

Immortality (Type 1, 3 and 7): Vampires' bodies are already dead[10]. They have eternal life and can regenerate wounds that are fatal to humans.

Regeneration (Low-Mid): He can regenerate serious wounds, burns, and severed limbs.

Self-Sustenance (Type 1 and 2): Vampires do not breathe and can survive for an indefinite period of time without feeding.

Resistance to Extrasensory Perception: As a vampire, he should be comparable to Angel

Resistance to Possession: His inner demon can act as a defense against invading demons that try to possess him.

Empathy Manipulation: Vampire bites trigger the pleasure centers of the victim, meaning most don't even fight back when they're being bitten. Angel exploits this to calm down Willow who's been taken over by dark magic.

Resistance to Soul Manipulation: Vampires don't have souls.

Limited Resistance to Empathy Manipulation: As a vampire, he should be comparable to Angel

Telepathy: Vampires have a psychic bond with the people they transform.

Shapeshifting: They can reveal vampire faces. Spike reveals his vampire face. Angel reveals his vampire face.

Corruption (Type 1): Vampires can turn people into vampires. Darla turns Angel into a vampire

Statistics Amplification: As a vampire, he should be comparable to Angel.

Information Analysis: Spike determines if Cordelia is bad by taste test.

Instinctive Action:
Bodily Weaponry: Vampires have claws and fangs that they use in battle.
Stamina
Superhuman (Can engage in very long fights, can continue fighting despite severe injuries. He was able to continue fighting despite the serious wounds and burns he received while fighting for his soul. He returned to the field shortly after being tortured by Glory. )

Intelligence
Gifted
Spike often displayed insight and skills in perception and observation, especially with regard to relationships and personalities, so long as the relationship in question doesn't concern him personally. This ability allows him to wield powerful psychological weapons as easily and effectively as physical ones. For example, when he wants to create disharmony among the Scoobies, Spike divides-and-conquers by exploiting tensions that exist under the surface to turn Buffy and her friends against each other.[60] He explained to Buffy that he was able to defeat two Slayers because he sensed and exploited their secret desires to be free of their burden.[16] Spike's skills of analysis allowed him to be the first to see through Tara's controlling family,[64] forced Buffy and Angel to admit that they were more than "just friends,"[51] and to identify when and why some relationships, such as that between Buffy and Riley, were not meant to last, feeding Riley's insecurities in an effort to sabotage his relationship with Buffy so that Spike could pursue her.[67][66] His analytical skills also help him in battle from time to time; for example, he identified Illyria's fighting style as a Tae Kwon Do/Brazilian Ninjitsu hybrid.[10]

Much like Angel, Spike often displayed in-depth knowledge of different demon species and other supernatural beings, being aware of Rack and surprised at Willow's trips to his place,[161] and also knowing that Wolfram & Hart represented "the worst evil in the universe."[12] Spike had also proven to be far more intelligent than others give him credit for; for example, he quickly realized that Angel and Twilight were one and the same.[116]

True Form and Human Form

Martial Arts and Weapon Mastery: Illyria used an ancient fighting style that Spike compared to Taekwondo and Brazilian jujitsu. She's skilled enough to take down Angel and Spike in a fight at the same time.

Immortality (Type 1, 3 and 6): As one of the most powerful Old Ones, Illyria possessed eternal life. İt could instantly heal any wound it received. I'll take a look at this when I have the time.

I was actually planning a Buffy revision of my own.

Everything seems fine at glance but i have smth to say about this
We dont have Extremely genius as Intelligence rating. And although I think what you meant to propose was Extraordinary Genius, I think it would still be a little short of a solid rating so I would propose an At least Genius, likely Extraordinary Genius instead.

I updated OP according to your suggestion.

Are we certain the comics are canon? The comics greatly inflate the characters' power and meanwhile the original TV show has lots of anti-feats.

Angel and Faith, which is done by the same companies, ties into many works, etc is canon.

Plus, I don't really see what anti-feats Buffy at least has in terms of AP. She brings down a house casually while *******, and gets knocked part-way through a concrete wall by Glorificus with minimal damage.

LS I'm also contentious about. But I'll expand on that later.

Speaking of Glory, for anyone who scales to her I think it should be noted that she is far stronger than Buffy.

  1. Every time she and Buffy fought 1v1, she was unharmed by all of Buffy's attacks and casually dominated her in power.
  2. Buffy and Spike fought her in a 2v1 at least once that I can remember, she overpowered them both.
  3. To even the playing field in the finale, they needed:
    1. A robot version of Buffy equal to Buffy herself in strength, which she still ended up beheading despite being weakened.
    2. Spike himself.
    3. An energy sphere that specifically weakened her.
    4. A hammer that could specifically hurt super-powerful beings like her.

Angel and Faith, which is done by the same companies, ties into many works, etc is canon.
I mean canon to the TV show.

She struggled to lift a portcullis in Season 3, she struggled to break out of a coffin in Season 6, she admitted she couldn't break a door because it was steel in Season 1, and there are more.

It's even wider than that. Glory literally says she'd outright kill Buffy if not for Ben's humanity.
  • GLORY: Don't be so hard on the boy. He just wants to live. Most guys would do the same. Besides, he's probably the reason your sis and her little cartoon pals are still alive. That little nagging pinch of humanity that makes me go for the hurt instead of the kill. Lowering myself to trade blows with the Slayer when I should have just put my fist through her heart. It's gotta be Ben.
The only one who even remotely scales to her is Willow.
I mean canon to the TV show.
I know. That's what I'm talking about.
she struggled to break out of a coffin in Season 6, she admitted she couldn't break a door because it was steel in Season 1
A) multiple physically comparable/inferior vampires were able to progressively tear through the steel door in that same episode, B) Season 1 Buffy doesn't scale to post-Season 1 Buffy, especially Buffy from the 2nd episode of the whole show. I'll expand on that later.

As for not breaking out of a coffin easily (which isn't really even true), that's a probably the outlier here, unless there's some context that explains why she couldn't.

In fairness, Glory overestimates herself.
I know. That's what I'm talking about.
I didn't see any proof that the comics are a canon sequel to the TV show. It proves the TV show is meant to be its past, but not that the comics are the show's canon future. Meanwhile there is a massive discrepancy in feats and abilities, and the events in the comics are all set after thus making them self-contained.

For example, the Star Wars EU is still a sequel to the original trilogy, but it is no longer canon to it (hard to be certain all of it ever was). No longer does Luke become the greatest Jedi ever; now he tries to murder a child and then mopes on an island, so Rey can suddenly appear and become the best Jedi/pilot/shooter/mechanic ever.
It's hard to know if Luke, who was seemingly as strong as Darla and Angel, was involved in breaking that door.
, B) Season 1 Buffy doesn't scale to post-Season 1 Buffy, especially Buffy from the 2nd episode of the whole show. I'll expand on that later.
Yeah, I can go along with that. Buffy clearly gets stronger as the show goes on.
As for not breaking out of a coffin, that's a probably the outlier here, unless there's some context that explains why she couldn't.
There are other anti-feats. Spike knocked out from falling off Glory's tower, Buffy struggling to lift a chandelier, Glory being sent flying and slightly damaged from a truck hitting her, and again from a wrecking ball hitting her, Faith having bruising from police beating her, Angel being perturbed from attacking an unconscious Buffy in the hospital by the presence of numerous cops and hospital staff, Buffy struggling to catch up to a speeding school bus, Robin being able to bruise Spike, and still more.

I'll be better at thinking of them later. Currently not feeling great.

In fairness, Glory overestimates herself.
The point was more so that she's holding back.

  • However, while as far as I'm concerned only Joss can say this story is canon and that one isn't, I think we establish pretty clearly in this issue that "After The Fall" happened, and indeed significantly informed Angel's actions in adopting the role of Twilight.
This at least strongly suggests it's canon.
It's hard to know if Luke, who was seemingly as strong as Darla and Angel, was involved in breaking that door.
That's why I said comparable or inferior. Plus, even if Luke was part of it, we know at least one or two other Vampires that are inferior to Luke could also do this.
Spike knocked out from falling off Glory's tower
To be fair, this is easily one of the most common tropes in fiction, especially Live Action.

Supergirl can withstand an explosion worth hundreds of tons of TNT. Gets annihilated by a 2 km fall.

Baki gets punched through concrete. Goes through the organ grinder from a 30-metre fall.
Buffy struggling to lift a chandelier
I'll look into this. Otherwise, it seems pretty inconsistent with her casually tossing humans around.
Glory being sent flying and slightly damaged from a truck hitting her, and again from a wrecking ball hitting her
A) both of those would be in the 9-A band, B) Glory was significantly weakened by a combination of factors.

A better outlier would be Buffy blowing apart Judge with a bazooka, but bazookas can be 9-A.
Faith having bruising from police beating her & Robin being able to bruise Spike & Angel being perturbed from attacking an unconscious Buffy in the hospital by the presence of numerous cops and hospital staff
I can't excuse those, but I don't think it needs excusing; Faith literally wrestled big ass alligators when she was an early Slayer, and normal Vampires can tear humans apart. Logically, those are the outliers, or there's other factors at play, like Spike and Angel not wanting to get caught.
Buffy struggling to catch up to a speeding school bus
The OP literally calculated this. It's Subsonic.

Or so she implies. It's hard to be sure she isn't just inflating her own ego.

These are comic stories. Just because they're canon to each other doesn't prove canonicity to the show. And actually, the IP owners were the Kazui's, not Joss Whedon.

It was a huge chandelier. The episode with the living dummy.
A) both of those would be in the 9-A band, B) Glory was significantly weakened by a combination of factors.
My concern isn't the 9-A. It's the Tier 7 and even tier 2 stuff that is an enormous upgrade.
I can't excuse those, but I don't think it needs excusing; Faith literally wrestled alligators when she was an early Slayer, and normal Vampires can tear humans apart.
I thought of two more. Buffy and Angel could hardly hurt the Judge, and then Buffy shot him with a rocket launcher and it blew him to pieces. Angel and Drucilla both ran away from him the instant the saw the rocket launcher too. What's more, Buffy and the rest were lost on how to damage the mayor in his snake form, and then a few tons of TNT in the library killed him outright.
The OP literally calculated this. It's Subsonic.
A school bus? Okay, I'll check.

If anything, admitting that she's significantly handicapped by a human (which is a fact) does the opposite.

Ok, then. My mistake. I'll look into something more solid.

Tier 2 is via extremely specific shit that doesn't even scale to her normal physicals. As for Tier 7, how would any of Buffy or Glory's anti-feats matter to Illyria's full strength? Illyria scales to none of them (Glory is some vague god, who doesn't have anywhere near her full strength due to being in a human body), and even her diminished forms are well above the Scooby Gang.

I actually addressed the Judge thing in an edit. Plus, Judge isn't an Old One, and he wasn't at full power due to not having gathered enough souls. That wouldn't scale to Illyria.

The TNT blew up an entire school, and doesn't scale to Illyria because she's one of the stronger Old Ones.

I just checked over the OP and I noticed the seperate keys. Sorry, I'm sick at the moment, so I'm not as sharp as I should be. Someone in the last thread wanted the TV show incarnations to be tier 7. Speaking of tier issues, wouldn't the 2-C be sort of like environmental destruction if it doesn't scale to anything?

And in regards to the comics, their canonicity does seem kind of questionable. The fact that there's talks of some garbage sequel to the show that will feature a new Slayer certainly doesn't help with that.

I'm also unwell, and not quite as sharp as I should be. So I get it.

Maybe. I'm not sure about Arrow's plan there.

I'll certainly look into it.

I just looked on the Buffy wiki. Apparently they are canon to the TV shows. That wasn't anywhere near as dubious as I thought it'd be, unlike Farscape and some other franchises.
It seems the fan base deemed it canon due to Joss Whedon's involvement. My concern is that he is not the IP holder. The Kazui's don't seem to have done anything here. I guess the show was Whedon's baby rather than theirs. I suppose we can revise later when their planned sequel comes out and retcons everything. Assuming the whole business doesn't break itself by then.

What's garbage about this? This is not a sequel but a spin off

Buffy season 8 was confirmed as canon by Joss Whedon in 2005
"Speaking of Darkhorse Comics, they are starting a new Buffy comic, and as I understand it, it will take place after the end of Buffy and Angel and be canon in the Buffy world. And I understand it that way 'cause I'M WRITING IT."[4]
Whedon reaffirmed his intention in 2006:
"We could do something and for once we could make it canon. We could make it officially what happened after the end of the show."[2]
Whedon was involved in plotting the series, while Brian Lynch wrote the scripts. In 2007, while discussing Buffy Season Eight, he revealed his plans for a similar Angel continuation:
"In fact, I am talking to Brian Lynch who wrote Spike: Asylum about doing a sort of Season Six of Angel — a canon, post-Angel story. I was really impressed with Asylum. Brian really got the humor and the rhythms and told a story really well. I thought, 'If they can do this, why shouldn't they?'"[7]
Lynch also confirmed the canonicity of the series, stating:
"Yes, it certainly is [canon]. Everything that happens in these pages officially happens to these characters. It's pretty exciting and kind of daunting."[8]
Lynch also addressed the question of whether Spike: After the Fall was canon:
"SPIKE:ATF tells a story that was going to be talked about and seen in the very canon ANGEL:ATF but instead builds on it and fleshes it out, that's pretty much canon."[10]
In turn, Lynch's ongoing Spike series is considered canon due to Whedon's involvement and the fact that it ties into the "Twilight" and "Last Gleaming" story arcs of Season Eight. Lynch stated:
"Yes, it's canon, yes, it matters, and yes, it's the best SPIKE story I've told."[11]
IDW writer and editor Mariah Huehner reiterated this:
"Brian's [Spike] series will be 'canon' and lead up to his bug ship story in Season 8. And that's not all. So, fans needn't worry. They're going to get 8 amazing issues of Spike that'll show him as the hero he is."[12]
The fact that comic books are canon is something that has been confirmed many times, and as I wrote in my previous message, the angel series also supports this. So I don't think there is any need to further discuss whether it is canon or not.

Speaking of tier issues, wouldn't the 2-C be sort of like environmental destruction if it doesn't scale to anything?
If you're talking about Illyria, I don't think it's like environmental destruction. Because Illyria doesn't start a chain of events. What she does is find the right moment in time and use his power to destroy the universe at that moment.

I
What's garbage about this? This is not a sequel but a spin off
I'm not talking about the comics. I'm talking about talks of another Buffy show made in the same fashion as most modern reboots and "soft" reboots. Call me cynical, but those are generally garbage.

And in regards to canon, you're naming two things, that Joss Whedon says it's canon, and that things described in the show are happening in the comics. The issue with the first is thatJoss Whedon isn't the IP holder; he doesn't actually own it. The issue with the second is that it is actually irrelevant. If I make a sequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy which refences events from the books and other things, it makes it respectful, but not automatically canon.

Joss Whedon is the creator and executive producer of the Buffy and Angel series. He is the founder of one of the Production companies of these TV series. If he isn't the owner of the intellectual property, who is?

If you are the author of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and you own of the publishing housss that published the trilogy, and you write the sequels of the trilogy and say they are canon, then it is canon.

The Kazui's. Joss Whedon came up with much of the idea, but they legally own it.
If you are the author of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and you own of the publishing housss that published the trilogy, and you write the sequels of the trilogy and say they are canon, then it is canon.
Not if I don't own the IP. George Lucas created Star Wars and Indiana Jones, and now he owns neither. He has likened Disney's treatment of Star Wars to slavery. And yet they still legally own the IP, not him.

I just want to comment on why is the name of the verse being changed with no reasoning at all? I'm aware this is one of those series where there's no real consistent name to refer to the franchise as a whole (like Nasuverse), but "BuffyVerse" would imply it's an official name of sorts, so unless it's official I'd think it should just be "Buffy (Verse)" or so.

The name Buffyverse has been used in the titles of published works[1][2][3][4] and is a name adopted by Joss Whedon.[5][6]

However, kazui's were not included in the TV show. And their rights are for the movie version of Buffy.
That's not exactly true. They are credited in the TV show. They have to be, because they own the intellectual property. That's why there have been official talks of making a sequel to Buffy without Joss Whedon involved. It was infamous, because everyone who liked the original series knew it would be garbage.

If there's just 'talks', then I don't think we should even be treating this as a contradiction.

If I don't give input, just assume I'm fine with it/agree.
Buffy will get a base key for her normal self
I think Buffy should also get some other keys/power-ups.

Firstly, her original resurrection at the end of Season 1 amplified her powers to the point where she could go toe-to-toe with Master. I can't recall if it's a permanent amp, but it's an enormous one as Master killed an AU Buffy in seconds in the Wishverse timeline.

Secondly, according to Riley, Buffy gets stronger and stronger each day by at least Season 5. Buffy herself also lends credibility to this in Fool For Love (S5, E7), stating that she is in the best physical shape of her life, and that she trains more than ever.
  • RILEY: It's not about him. It's about us. You're getting stronger every day, more powerful. I can't touch you. Every day, you're just a little further out of my reach.

  • BUFFY: I'm in the best physical shape of my life. I mean, if you're asking how it happened, I don't-
This is because Giles basically isn't giving her one moment of rest.
  • BUFFY: I'm trying. But they're really piling on the reading, and Giles fills any free time I have with extra training ... I'm starting to think this working hard is hard work.
It might be best to have more than one key for her normal self, since she gets a lot stronger across the show. My logic makes sense because Faith, Buffy, Gigi and comparable characters are demonstrably way stronger than younger Slayers.
Slayers and Vampires scale to Subsonic due to buffy's bus passing feat
Expanding on the previous point, I don't think this should be scaled 1:1 to all Vampires and Slayers. Buffy had been a Slayer for the better part of a decade by this point, and was easily one of the best. She, and comparable Slayers like Gigi and Faith are demonstrably way stronger and faster than regular/younger Slayers.
Accelerated Development: When a potential slayer becomes a slayer, she has the combat experience, knowledge, and martial arts mastery of all previous slayers. Buffy soon becomes strong enough to defeat the characters she was beaten up badly.
I agree, but I disagree with the examples.

Supposedly dealing with multiple Turok-Han was just PIS.

As for the second example, Buffy's powers are somewhat dependent on her mental state. Buffy was having a rough time transitioning to college, which is why her injuries seem to heal almost immediately in the next fight.
That might be enough evidence for Void Manipulation, but I could be wrong.
I don't think this is literal. For example, Superman's most commonly abilities is 'invulnerability', but he's not truly immune to harm, just impossibly durable.
Buffy tearing through the canvas is good enough, but the rest seems to be a passive ability of Twilight itself.
You might want to keep a lid on this for now.
Are we sure that's Buffy, or just one of the properties of mʔ? It can tear open portals, after all.
I'd say limited is better. Blim's power, as you said, just promotes misogyny. He doesn't induce it.
  • Lilah: Not all people. Just men. He brings out a primordial misogyny in them. Turns them into killers.
Since Angel doesn't feel hate for his victims, it doesn't work.
  • Angel: Well, that thing that Billy brought out in others? - The hatred and anger... that's something I lost a long time ago.
  • Cordy: Even when you were evil?
  • Angel: I never hated my victims, I never killed out of anger, it was always about the - pain and the pleasure.
That's not manipulation. It'd be like giving humans temperature manipulation for radiating body heat.

I'd just put that as an aspect of Stealth Mastery for vampires.
I'm sure the last one would scale to other Vampires, since it's just taste, but some Vampires have unique abilities, so I can't verify the first two.
Empathy Manipulation: Illyria had empathetic abilities that allow her to perceive the emotional states of others. She was, for instance, capable of sensing Connor's lust for her,[10] Wesley's frustration with Angel, as well as his grief over Fred's death.
That doesn't seem like manipulation, more like Extrasensory Perception, or something.
Willow would have needed to animate the avatar in place of her true body to do this. I think this is more like Intangibility Negation.
Willow (The Seed of Wonder Connection - Traversing the Multiverse) scales to at least H8C, Large Building level+ (When fighting an Old One, she lifted and threw a mountain)
Quor'toth is literally the owner of the worst Hell Dimension out there, and has been growing stronger by absorbing hate from its demon followers across the dimension. I think we can reasonably scale Willow to human Illyria here.
The slayers and Vampires are scales to Class 25 due to Buffy bending three steel rods and Angel ripping off two demon's arms.
Ripping off an arm feats were calculated as Class 25.[/SPOILER]
I definitely think the characters need upgrades, but there's too many anti-feats for Class 25, imo. Class 5 is probably more appropriate.
There's more, but it doesn't seem necessary.

I think Buffy should also get some other keys/power-ups.

Firstly, her original resurrection at the end of Season 1 amplified her powers to the point where she could go toe-to-toe with Master.
Buffy was in a bad mental state when she went to fight the Master, and the Master was able to quickly kill Buffy thanks to his hypnosis rather than his physical strength.
I can't recall if it's a permanent amp, but it's an enormous one as Master killed an AU Buffy in seconds in the Wishverse timeline.
A long time had passed since the Master in the Wishverse timeline was released from his imprisonment, and he fed constantly throughout this time. Therefore, it is likely that Buffy is stronger than the Master she faced.
Riley was constantly taking medication to maintain his powers, and as the medication time was approaching, he might have started to weaken and thought Buffy was getting stronger.
Yes they are more powerful but do they really need a separate key for that?

I removed the examples.

I removed invulnerability
I removed resistance to cold
Are we sure that's Buffy, or just one of the properties of mʔ? It can tear open portals, after all.
This is probably because mʔ displays different abilities depending on the powerful of its user. Willow can rift reality when using mʔ, but Buffy has never done this. And when Buffy got stronger, she cut the spell with mʔ. I'll update this with "with mʔ" though

Since it's never mentioned that Angel and Spike have unique abilities like Dracula, I don't think this is a special ability for them.

Changed to at least Class 5

I suppose I'll concede to this argument, given the previous line.

Though I could swear it's stated that weakened Master > Luke somewhere.
Riley was constantly taking medication to maintain his powers, and as the medication time was approaching, he might have started to weaken and thought Buffy was getting stronger.
Given the fact that we know Buffy did get stronger across the show and she doesn't really deny the logic (just his other claim), I'd argue it's probably a combination.

Maybe other characters can downscale, I guess, since they still can somewhat keep up with her by later seasons.

Sure.

I agree with downscaling the other slayers.

I think scaling should be like this;

The First Slayer > Slayer (Buffy, faith and Gigi and the slayers who can be compared to them) >= Elder Vampires (Angel and Spike) > Slayer (Slayers weaker than Buffy, Faith and Gigi) > Vampires

If there's just 'talks', then I don't think we should even be treating this as a contradiction.
I only told you that to clarify. It doesn't change the fact that the Kazui's own the IP rather than Joss Whedon. To be honest, what you're saying there seems to be a straw man, whether intended or not.

Can someone find confirmation that the Kazui's were at all connected to the comics? That would put this issue to rest.

No, it was just irrelevant because Kuzui only owns a portion of the IP, which are some of the film rights.

Edit: My mistake. I'm thinking of Kaz, not Fran. But, from what I can find, they don't actually own the copyright, just a substantial portion of the franchise rights (meaning they can basically make any project they want with the IP, not that they own it—supposedly, FOX in the past, and now Disney, own the IP itself), and Sandollar had the film/tv rights when the comics were being produced.

Edit 2: I should definitely look into this more, because there's a lot of inconsistencies in articles.

Also, no, I'm just addressing that singular argument you made (hence why I chose the laser-focused words 'I don't think we should even be treating this as a contradiction'), not your entire argument. It'd be a strawman if I used it to dismiss your other claims based on that one point.
Can you ping @Lonkitt and @Dereck03 for their opinions on the updated version of the OP?

I do seem to remember there were some issues years back where Whedon had limited ability to make things because there were issues with the Kazuis or the company or something. I do know Angel was meant to have more seasons but ended sooner against Joss Whedon's wishes. And wow, if it's owned by Disney it's better off not receiving any new official content for at least the next few years, or until Disney sells it to pay off all the financial loss they built up.

Apparently there's some audio thing about Spike coming out, and there was an announced reboot which is on pause. And given that much of Hollywood and even a fair few of the Buffy cast have come out attacking Joss Whedon and some in particular even effectively calling him a sex offender, the series definitely has a questionable future.

Okay, I thought you were doing that, dismissing the whole thing by only focusing on that.
