Due to saving the world, Queen Jaydes, the Queen of the Underwhere (or basically the afterlife) is willing to "tip the scales in Mario's favor".

That obviously means that she's not gonna let them die.

That isn't immortality though, she just let's them leave the underwhere iirc. This is also demonstrably not some sort of endless ward against ever dying.

Idk gunvolt, but with the lich he's constantly not allowed to die as a punishment (except against the Gunslinger causing himself to never become The Lich in the first place), and it's a thing Kaliber constantly does.
