Ehh, I've considered NEP to be kind of a senseless power, but how I see it, for a character to have NEP and be corporeal is for someone that either can "shift" between both states, or its imperceptible (aka, relative NEP).

Either, VK does not shift nor is imperceptible, you can the rest of the abilities of the undead here.

Would this not be similar dnd outsider if not isn't nonexistence one of the big reasons it's up so high. But why would the void knight push an advance.

Outsiders are those natives of planes that aren't the material one and are at least partially made of the essence of its plane, right? Well, as a Between World the VK is half way between the material world and the spiritual, existing in the material one without belonging to it, so more a kin to Extraplanar.
