Batman General Discussion

Then as said, I'd be fine with a possibly/likely based on how having studied it, and showing magic while under the effect of Batmite.

Batmite complicates it though, he might not have given him powers, but he was also going through Supes' weaknesses, so he might've. It's a bit vague but there's a good chance it was on Batman's end so a likely should be ok.

Yeah, a likely sounds fine, especially considering in the previous scan Batman said he had countless ways to beat Supes(which is also a reference to what BWL said in Devastator #1, which didn't have Batmite doing anything)

The series happened before Jon was born. It cannot be referring to N52 Superman since Superman in MOT wore his trunks outside while N52 wore it inside. Post-Crisis Superman, in Rebirth had Jon with him so it could have been PC Superman only if the series itself happened in PC. So it happened in PC.

And sure, its magic and chain manipulation
Do you agree with a Solid rating or a Likely?

Moving to Post-Crisis Batman's upgrade, we have 6 Building level calcs from these-

We also have a bunch of 9-A+ feats of course, and this might be an outlier but there's a Large Building+ feat too

I think we already have good consistency here.
The last one also hurt the Justice League, so Batman must have had prep time or was more durable in that comic. Especially since its a 6 dimensional explosion

Yeah it's probably the best to take that as an Outlier, but even other than that, we have 5-6 calcs which is enough for an upgrade

Checked the first two calcs here again and I noticed that no one actually evaluated them :(

I'm willing to go with anything as long as it has enough support with negligible contradictions (some contradictions is fine, it'd never be perfect, but I mean, as long as it isn't often or the anti-feats overwhelm the feats being used).

Would you be ok with calcing the explosion dodging feats? Because I have never done that before

I can try and make an attempt as with anything, but I can't promise anything beyond I'll at the very least look them over and if they're doable I'll try my hand at it.

Also before getting to Batman's speed, what's the maximum speed tier you are willing to go before calling it an outlier?
IMO I think they're good where they are because they do struggle with bullets a decent amount, not to the point that they're Subsonic or anything but they're at least threatened by them somewhat, which wouldn't make sense with MHS or anything like that. That's just me though

Aren't they already possibly MHS+ though? I think we could get a better reaction speed since that's just a singular movement

This is the most blatant example, though a lot of times where Batman gets tagged by bullets would only be anti feats if you think he's subsonic

You can struggle with bullets while being as fast or faster than them, he's not hard locked at any speed tier I just think he's silly to say he's hundreds of times faster

That might actually be a supersonic+ feat on Batman's end (that bullet is over mach 3.4), he does react to it and even dodges, he just wasn't fast enough to move Freeze out of the way too I think? Though it also depends when he sensed the air moving and when he actually started moving.

Honestly I'm just impressed he heard a supersonic bullet

The entire Submarine is 1509 pixels long, and its actual length is 106 metres. So 106/1509=0.07024519549370443. The gun is 87 pixels. 0.07024519549370443*87= 6.111332007952286m

1920px-USSNarwhalSS169.jpg

In the scan the gun is 238.25 pixels high. So 6.111332007952286/238.25= 0.025650921334532156. The explosion has a diameter of 1806.41 pixels, so 0.025650921334532156*1806.41= 46.33608080791223m. Halve that and you get 23.168040403956116 which is the radius.

tk5rJ0C.jpg

Now to apply the surface burst formula of W = R^3*((27136*P+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2, where W is the yield in tons of TNT, R is the radius in meters, and P is the shockwave pressure in bars, where we generally use 1.37895 bars or 20 psi of pressure and you get 0.9994323919342994 tons of TNT.

Inverse-Square Law time. Batman's head is 62.98 pixels. The average human head is 0.23m so 0.23/62.98=0.0036519530009526836m. Batman is 815.01 pixels away from the explosion, so 0.0036519530009526836*815.01=2.9763782153064464m.

  • I = (0.9994323919342994) / (4π((2.9763782153064464)^2))= 0.008977746174778893 tons of TNT.
Lastly, we multiply that with Batman's cross-sectional area, which is 1.115; 0.008977746174778893*1.115= 0.010010186984878466 Tons of TNT

Sml6w1I.jpg

Small Building level. Not 8-C unfortunately, yet another feat ruined by Inverse-Square Law.

Or is it?

Because while Batman was quite far from the explosion, Talia wasn't. She was only 171.51 pixels away
Sml6w1.jpg

So 171.51* 0.0036519530009526836=0.6263464591933947m

  • I = (0.9994323919342994) / (4π((0.6263464591933947)^2))= 0.20272826502158398 tons of TNT
Time for CA. Talia is 64 kg and 172.72cm tall. Plugging those here gives a Surface Area of 1.75; We need the cross-sectional area, which is usually 40-50% that of total surface area. I will use the middle end of 45%. That gives us a CA of 0.7875.

0.7875*0.20272826502158398=0.15964850870449737 tons of TNT

Small Building+

Not 8-C unfortunately but still a good support ig.

Conclusion: INVERSE-SQUARE LAW IS THE WORST LAW TO EVER EXIST

Conclusion: INVERSE-SQUARE LAW IS THE WORST LAW TO EVER EXIST
You're telling me, there's a solid 9-A feat I was looking at elsewhere, where a dude whips out like 64 ******* sticks of TNT and blows himself up and a dude tanks it, but because he's like A FOOT AWAY it's 9-B.
And then feats where you can actually inverse because you know they're far away, but don't know HOW far?

Shit's annoying.
